Pet care experience
I have owned a dog all my life. I currently have four dogs. Two of them are over 12 years old, so I understand the needs of senior dogs . I have volunteered at the local shelter to dog walk for several years.My daughter and I started caring for our friends and family’s pets when she was a teen. She is now a veterinarian technician at out local veterinary clinic. I enjoyed my time helping my daughter with the animals so much that I have continued to do so on my own. I will give your dog love, attention and exercise every time I visit. I love taking pictures of your dog playing or snuggling to let you know he is okay. My yard is fenced in so he can run around. I also live in a quiet neighborhood near a walking trail so we can get some exercise. If I come to your house I will hang out with your dog or play depending on his needs so that he doesn’t miss you too much. I believe dogs are part of the family so they will get their people time in our house. I have cared for other people’s dogs since 2018. Because I want to provide the best care possible, I have taken professional pet sitting classes.

Shawna was amazing with our dogs ! She is the sweetest and our dogs took to her right away. We have one dog who is very skeptical of people so we have had a hard time finding a dog sitter. Shawna allowed oscar to take his time and get to know her. She is our favorite!!
Shawna took such good care of my Obi! Loved getting the pictures and video updates. It’s such a relief to know he was being cared for and loved while I was not able to be with him. I will definitely rebook.

I am currently taking classes to become a certified pet sitter. So I take the responsibility seriously. I have a fenced in backyard yard , so they can run freely outside. I introduce each dog to my dogs one by one and allow them time to decide if they are comfortable or not with each other. I have half doors to separate any dogs that need their space. I also have crates for those who are more comfortable that way. Every dog gets lots of play time inside and out. The dogs are allowed throughout the house so they can snuggle with my family and I. My family and I do our best to help your pet feel at home and comfortable when they are with us. If I am coming to your house I will check on your mail, water plants , and take down the trash on trash days. I do my best to keep the same schedules for your pet so they don’t miss you too much. I will take pictures throughout the day and send you updates on how they are doing and what fun we have been up to. There will always be time to just snuggle and relax.

Please let me know if your dog has any anxiety issues, or dislike of certain activities or actions, so I can avoid what will cause them discomfort. It is important to know their feeding routines.
A typical day
If they are at my home they will get to go to my large back yard and play with my dogs, multiple different toys, dig holes if they want or just chill in the sun. Depending on the weather we may walk to the trails down the street from my house. If I am at your house we will go outside and run around, then relax in the sun. For those I am specifically walking we will stay out at least 20-30min. Depending on the weather and type of dog.

Availability
I am currently working part time so I have flexibility to come and check on your pet frequently. I am off on weekends, so that allows more people time if they are at my house. During the summer I have even more flexibility with my schedule.
