Pet-free household ready to welcome your fur babies. My name is Shauna and I am 45. I stay at home as a mom to school age twins and am entirely available to you. Any time I've gone away, I've left at least 3 pages of notes about my pet(s). So, I get how much you love your dog/cat. I truly do. That is why I am doing this. It was always so hard for me to find a sitter I trusted..... I am a true lifelong animal lover and advocate. I've taken time off from my career to do what I love-work with animals. I started volunteering 15+ years ago at Animal Haven in Queens before moving to the Yonkers animal shelter volunteer program. I walked the dogs, held the cats, played with them, and tried to give them at least some love as their lives were in small cages and they had no one. Years ago I adopted a pitbull named Rusty, after trying for a year to find him a home. He was like my child. I also adopted 2 cats, and guinea pigs. I had twins 5 years ago and gave up volunteering, but occasionally did petsitting. I also help out by posting animals for adoption. My children (boy and girl) and also animal loving, and they've like being around dog and cats. I know how hard it is to trust people with them. To give you an idea of how much I love animals, I have been a vegetarian for 20+ years and have never even killed a bug, except if it would hurt my children (pets included!) I know I am good at this, and am pouring my heart into this passion. My kids are gone from 8:00-3:00. Your pet will be minded by me entirely during the day, and evening, and the kids will love to play/pet/talk to your baby when they get home. I would prefer to keep the pet(s) of one family at a time. This ensures your pet(s) will have all my attention. If you are on vacation and live in the Westchester area, I can drop your pet off at home, as a courtesy, for you upon your return. This will be one less thing you have to worry about. I am hoping to create meaningful bonds with families. I know the peace of mind you will have with me will be priceless.

As the owner of an extremely energetic Siberian Husky, finding a petsitter like Shauna was a lifesaver! After interviewing many others, I chose Shauna because she was the only one with the stamina, heart, compassion, and love that I would trust with my best friend. You can tell that this isn't a job for her, but rather a vocation. If you need to leave your furry friend behind, you can rest easy if you leave him with Shauna!
Shauna is such a wonderful and caring resource for all animals, and especially for dogs. She is so very nurturing with dogs and has had several rescue animals as part of her family in the past. She's so caring but she is also extremely knowledgeable and people call her for doggie advice all the time! She is a wonderful dog caregiver and treats all animals as if they were people! Her heart knows no bounds towards all animals.
Shauna treats animals as if they are part of her family. Her love for them is obvious. Even my cats, Harley and Mika, who don't warm up easily to strangers, approached her soon after she arrived. Her professional approach put me immediately at ease. As someone who travels often, it was wonderful to find someone I felt comfortable with. Shauna has sit for me several times. After the first visit, Harley actually seemed upset to see her leave. Pretty amazing! Every time I leave on business I try to see if she's available. Rarely is she hard to contact, also. Fast email or text typically. Easy going personality, my dog Brady loves her. Cats now APPROACH her when she shows up, too! Trust me, you will be leaving your loved ones in good care. Anytime I leave I typically feel guilty, but Shauna gives me peace of mind when she sits for us. So much nicer than a boarding center! Simply wonderful, cannot recommend her highly enough.
Shauna and her family brings the term "animal lover" to a new level. No need to ever worry about your pet left in her care. If anything your pet may not want to leave her happy home. She will treat your pet as if it was her own. She will send you updates, pictures and anything that will keep your mind at ease. You will never find a dog sitter more loving.

A typical day
Between walks I have a large yard, all fenced, where we can play with a ball or just get some air. I love walking dogs at the Peekskill and Croton waterfront. We live in a quiet neighborhood. I remember how much I loved getting pics and videos from my pet sitter, and would send you as many as you want (really!). Also, at night, we dim the lights, put on Enya and I give a long, loving massage to your baby.
