Skagit Sitters

Pet care experience

Hello! I am a PCU nurse who is obviously CPR and First Aid certified and also have my own pets: one cat (she lives in the master bedroom which all dogs are kept out of by a closed door). I have two rescues, one is an energetic lab/pit terrier mix and the other is a senior collie/lab mix. Both are happy dogs that enjoy the company of other dogs. We go on frequent walks and runs. I have a quarter of an acre for the dogs to play in as well. We look forward to meeting your dogs and sharing our home with them for however long is needed. Currently, only repeat Dogvacay customers are being accepted to better accommodate our loyal customers (and give Skagit Sitters a much needed rest). We will likely open our business up to new customers again in the Summer. *Please note that DogVacay at times isn't completely accurate despite my best efforts to ensure our calendar/amount of dogs we are watching is correct. If you'd like to book with us and it shows that we're booked, feel free to send a general inquiry email to verify that we are booked. Thank you! :)* *Please also note that we will NOT accept any dogs that are not fully vaccinated. This is a decision that we are unwavering on to protect not only ourselves, our dogs and our guests dogs. Kennels, vets and dog daycares out in the community all require this and even though some Dogvacay sitters might accept dogs that are not fully vaccinated, we at Skagit Sitters feel it's very important to vaccinate all pets for the health of your pets and the pets in the community.*

It was our second time with Shaun. Where to start, Shaun is a wonderful dog sitter and I recommend him to anyone who needs someone to look after their pet. He treated our pup like he was his own, and all day he sent pictures of our little dogs. He's also very responsive to texts/calls and flexible with drop off and pick up time. Great person and sitter.

Wonderful. The entire family, including their dogs, are welcoming and great hosts. Beau was well cared for and seemed happy to be there. We will definitely reserve with them again..

Shaun and his family were excellent hosts for our dogs. Easy drop off and pick up. The pics we got while on our own vacation definitely helped with the dog withdrawals.

All our experiences with Shaun have been terrific. Beau, our dog, seems to be happy to get there and is always in good shape when we pick her up. Highly recommend Shaun -- can't go wrong with him.

Any medications a dog may be on; behaviors/paration anxiety? If a dog is able to get along with other dogs/children? Feeding and walking schedule? If a dog is housebroken? Is the dog a chewer or a a digger? Has the dog gone through obedience class(es) and how a dog responds to commands and being called by name? How does the dog do on a leash? Does the dog tend to get into food, etc if left out (i.e. on a counter)?

A typical day

We will go on walks, play in our backyard and house, hike if it's nice, etc. It's all dependent on the dog and the activities he or she is comfortable with doing.
