Myself and my wife Christine are a mid 40s married couple that have cared for my sisters cats (Hamish and Merlyn - brothers, and Sasha a rescue cat) for long periods many times over approx 13 years. We lived with Hamish and Merlyn for almost ten years while my sister worked away frequently. Sadly both cats have passed on now, but they were old (18-Hamish) + (16-Merlyn) and had had a great life when they passed. Hamish was blind for his last year or so and needed medication (pills, plus cream in his ear) so I am used to older cats or cats that may have small medical needs. We have pet/house sat for friends' cats and dogs from time to time and continue to do so when we are able. We have gained a lot of experience with dogs during these sits, having cared for younger and older dogs with no problems. We have taken care of up to three dogs at once and love their compnay. Our sits have been varied and have included multiple pets, long sits, overseas sits and importantly, repeat sits which is a good indicator we're doing something right! All of these sits have been very enjoyable experiences. We spend almost all of our time with the pets when sitting and we like to keep as close to a pets routine as possible. We never make any plans while sitting unless the pets are involved. We like to live like a local and just enjoy any pets in their home environment, minimising any chance of disruption or anxiety for the pets. As there are two of us, in the unlikely event one of us did need to do any tasks or run an errand, the other would be available to stay with and enjoy the company of your pets. We follow any instructions to the letter. For instance, keeping gates locked, not allowing dogs off leash unless in areas pre-authorised by the owner. Any pets safety is absoloutely our first priority, ensuring peace of mind for owners and of course ourselves too. We are more than happy to provide daily updates (photo/video) of your pets when sitting, hopefully relieving any nerves or doubts you may have and helping you to relax while you are away knowing your pets are being very well cared for and getting lots of attention!
