Pet care experience
Mature dog lover whose dogs have passed. I work as a teacher during the weekdays, but have long evenings and weekends at home, working on my PhD, and I love furry friends to keep me company. My partner works from home 80% of the time. I offer a spacious and dog-friendly home in downtown east near parks and in a safe and dog-friendly neighbourhood. A careful pet sitter who will take your dog’s specific needs seriously. I only take one family’s pets at a time so you’ll know that your dog will have my full attention. When you book with me I mark those days as “unavailable” for additional bookings. Your dog will be loved, sleeping in my bed, taken for frequent walks, and safety assured. Your dog will also have my partner to play with, and if you like, we can take your dog on long walks along the beaches boardwalk or wherever you feel comfortable with us taking them. I will stay in close communication with you and if you like I will send you updates about how your baby is doing while you’re away. You’ll feel 100% confident that your pet is in good hands.
Reviews
Sharry and Stefan took care of my dog like he was their own. At first, I was so scared as my dog was not good with other dogs but they were so reassuring and handled him so well. They’re so kind and communicated with me throughout my dog’s stay. I couldn’t recommend them enough to everyone who is looking for a person who will follow everything and do more.
Sharry and Stefan were amazing. I was confident Monty was is good hands the entire stay. We received lots of updates a cute photos throughout the trip. Thank you for taking good care of our baby boy. Will definitely book again!
Donut had another great day with Sharry! When we arrived, she excitedly pulled me into their house because apparently she’s just as happy there as at home. I’m trying not to feel betrayed by her. 😂
Our Frenchie, Donut, had another great stay with Sharry! I received regular updates with pictures, and it was clear that she was comfortable and happy.

Your dog will be a member of the family while with us. They will sleep in the bed, be allowed on the couch, taken for frequent walks, played with, and treated exactly as you want them to be. Some dogs are allowed treats and some are not; some need frequent walks and some are “on the slow program.” You will dictate how we are with your pup.

Information Sharry T. would like to know about your pet
Mostly I feel I’d like to know how your dog behaves outside; whether they are good with other dogs or nervous. I default to keeping your dog away from other dogs if I am unsure, as your dog’s safety is my primary concern. I tend to prefer smaller breeds around or under 50 pounds (although this is not a hard and fast rule; I just *tend* to). I have a soft spot for rascally and wilful terriers as I had them for 18 years. But really I love all dogs. If your dog loves a cuddle they will be spoiled with me.
A typical day
In terms of what we will do when you’re away— I am flexible and this is entirely up to you. We will definitely play inside and outside the house with any toys that you bring (I do not supply dog toys for hygiene and safety reasons). We will go for a minimum of two walks a day. I tend not to prefer dog parks unless your dog is very familiar and you specifically request that I take them to one. I am a careful walker as I had a difficult dog for 16 years who didn’t like other dogs when she was leashed, so I tend to keep my doggies close to me as I walk. My partner and I love to go for long walks, so I’m happy to take your dog on a 10k around the beaches area, or can keep it closer to home (1-2k) or just “around the block.” In the summertime, I have a fenced front porch where I work and your dog can stay outside with me the whole time if they want to, or I can leave the front door open for them to come in and outside as they please. I find most dogs love the front porch and stay on a blanket near my feet the whole time. Within those possibilities, you set the preferences! I adore older dogs and am very attentive to their special needs and even complicated medical needs are not a problem for me.

I now work full time out of the house but my partner works mostly from home. We are always around evenings and weekends, and so your dog will have lots of time with us.
