I absolutely love dogs! I had a Pug and an Australian Shepherd for 13 years. A few years ago, each developed age-related problems and I lost them. I did not think I would get another dog, but after a year, I rescued our little Cookie. She is deaf which seems to make her very accepting to anything. She doesn't mind other animals, even cats. In fact, she acts a lot like a cat, sleeping a lot and lying around being lazy. I have a 17-year-old daughter, who also loves animals. I have probably fostered around 100 dogs with Humane Society and a local rescue over the past five years I live in a quiet neighborhood and it seems the majority of people have dogs.
