Pet care experience

Hi! I'm Ridley (legal former name Sharon,) an artist, vegetarian, and kind of a hippie. After growing up in Missouri surrounded by a menagerie of huge mutts, I moved out here to a house with a strict no-pet policy, so I'm positively starved for pets to lavish with affection--and after a life of roughhousing with 100lb dogs and playing jungle gym for pointy new kittens, I can take any blow your pet can dish out. While I love romping around with pets, I'm neat and very respectful of other people's homes. I won't raid the fridge, track mud in, or do anything I wouldn't do in King's Landing. If you're gone for a few days, I can take care of trash and newspaper for you, too. Give me a call! Petsitting for a friend with two cats and the oldest, gimpiest Dachsund in the world Years of caring for my family's dogs, cats, parrots, fish, horses, rabbits, and goat Volunteering at Pet Connection Why I love dog sitting The dogs came first. I was just added to the house. I grew up on a converted farm with my mom's four dogs, which soon became five, then seven, then thirteen as adoptees and litters came and went. The one I'll always think of as My Dog, though, was a beautiful lab/chow/wolf/mystery mutt named Ginger. I met her as a pup when I was five, and she was my best friend for years after. Always loving, playful, and empathetic, she was the first one to my side when I was upset--even when she was bigger than I was. I lost her to a hit and run driver after seven years and two beautiful litters, though, and it broke my heart. But three of her puppies--GG, Cocoa, and Fluffy--stayed behind, and somehow strays always found a home with us, so the nest didn't stay empty for long. My experience administering medication Yup. I sit fairly often for a dog who requires thyroid medication, NSAIDs, and injections of insulin.

We really liked Ridley. Our dog fell in love with him right away! We can recommend him and will have him watch our dog again in the future.

Sharon did a great job sitting for our dog and 2 cats. Definitely recommend. She gave us updates and took out the trash and recycling for us.

Sharon was a great sitter for my dog and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a friendly, attentive person to hangout with their pet while they’re away.

Information Sharon R. would like to know about your pet

Medical conditions, general temperament, exercise and rest preferences, favorite games, etc. Is there something specific that upsets her, or something she can't do? Does she have a favorite toy to comfort her while you're gone?

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog As much as is needed. At minimum, ~15 minutes per visit to make sure they've finished eating, moved their bowels, and had a chance to run around, but I prefer to stay upwards of 45 minutes or so. Being away from their owners can make pets depressed, which I haaaate to see, so I never leave before everyone in the house is purring or wagging.
