My family raised black labs when I was growing up and it was my job to help care for the puppies. Our son is deaf and we had the opportunity to adopt two shelties that were deaf! We had them from puppies till they passed away a few years ago. This was something that took a lot of different skills including always being with them when outside in the yard(fenced) at night because they wouldn’t hear animals approaching them! We did teach them to understand basic sign Lang.Almost all of or friends have dogs of all different shapes, sizes and breeds! I just retired as a sign language interpreter in a school and am looking for an interesting part time job! I love taking long walks and am a very active up -beat and friendly person. I think I could do a good service to different types of dogs and families.
