I've taken care of dogs and cats alike since I was in middle school. While in college and graduate school, one of my main sources of income apart from my campus jobs was to house sit for nearby families. Most of these families had 1-2 dogs and I would stay with them all throughout while the families were on vacation. Aside from this professional experience, I also have a lot of personal experience having had a dog for 15+ years myself. This past year my parents and I had to make the tough decision of putting my own dog down after 15 (going onto 16) years of unconditional love, incredible care and endless joy. I thank my furry best friend for the best years of my life - for raising me from middle school all the way to adulthood and for being my whole world until he crossed over the rainbow bridge. I know very well that our pets don't last our whole lives, but they do make our lives whole. Thanks to Poochi, I understand the value and the great trust it takes for one to take care of someone else's pet. Since we had to say goodbye to him and taking the time to mourn him, friends and family have relied on me to take care of their own pets. I frequently take care of two of my aunt's dogs - one of which who had still been recovering from a surgery. I've made sure that they were walked, fed, bathed, had taken the medications they needed at the exact time recommended by the vet, and even taken them to appointments as well. Most importantly, I've given them the same love, care and attention as I gave to my angel, Poochi. I currently reside in an apartment in East Harlem with both of my parents. All three of us have a long history of pet care. I guarantee that within this household, your pet will be in great hands!
