Pet care experience
Since a very young age, I have been responsible for a variety of animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses, goats, and even a buffalo. Animals hold a special place in my heart, dogs especially. I have personally owned dogs of all sizes (small to giant), a variety of breeds from rescue to pure bread. I understand that each dog has their own unique personalities and needs and I can adjust accordingly. I have experience training puppies as well as adult dogs and have cared for senior dogs and dogs with special needs due to illness and disabilities. I live with my husband and teenage son so there are plenty of people to give your dog love and attention. Our pets have always been treated like family and given an abundance of love.
Reviews
Shantel was an amazing host! Shantel sent a daily summary of Oliver and Tony's day with amazing pictures! My fur babies absolutely enjoyed her backyard during a nice sunny 5 day vacation and looked like they were right at home! I would and recommend and will be back to use her services?
Shantel is amazing with animals! I have witnessed her love and compassion for dogs first hand and it is truly remarkable. As someone who was raised with dogs and holds a special place in my heart for them, I always notice when others treat them with love and respect and that is Shantel through and through. She is patient, understanding, and caring for all beings around her. I personally have a really skittish dog who is often afraid of people, but she warmed right up to Shantel! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone and trust her with my own precious fur babies!
Shantel is my oldest sister and has always been a phenomenal caregiver. There was a brief period of my life where her and my other sister stepped in to help raise me, and I owe very much of who I am today to her. She is my biggest role model and I would trust her with more than just my dogs. I could not recommend her enough for Rover.
Shantel has taken care of my dogs throughout the years. She is excellent and treats dogs like visiting guests. She goes over and above to make sure they are taken care of for all their needs. I would highly recommend Shantel for this adventure.

I have a good sized fully fenced yard for your pup to play in with my dog, Polly. Polly is crate trained and can easily be put away if your dog needs some quiet time. She is a young dog who is friendly and loves to play with other dogs. We live in a quiet neighborhood that naturally has minimal stressors for dogs like busy roads or loud industrial buildings. We do have chickens in our backyard, however they are safely in their own chicken run which is fenced off. I can easily accommodate frequent potty breaks, medication administration, bathing/grooming, play time, neighborhood walks, etc. I do require your dogs to be fully vaccinated and up to date for everyone’s safety- this is non-negotiable.

Information Shantel W. would like to know about your pet
Your pet must be house broken (potty trained). Please be sure to update your profile before your booking. This helps ensure a safe stay and allows for me to have all the information I may need. My goal is to ensure that your dog is as comfortable as possible during their stay with me and my family! Upon confirming your booking you will receive a message from me requesting the following information/items: If you could let me know a bit about your pups routine and preferences that would help me make their stay as close to home as possible. - when and how much do they eat? - can they have dog treats? - what is their sleeping preference? Kennel, floor, etc. - do they sleep through the night? - are they on any medication? - are there any special requests or needs that I should be aware of? To make their stay more comfortable, please be sure to bring the following: - enough food for their stay - a leash - a kennel, bed, and/or blanket (this is just to give them a safe space with a familiar scent in case they need a break. I rarely use the kennel) - any personal items they may require (toys, medicine, specific treats if they have food sensitivities, etc.)
A typical day
A typical day really depends on your dogs need and current routine. For a higher energy dog we could go for a walk in my neighborhood, run around my large backyard, and have lots of playtime throughout the day. For a lower energy dog we may go for a short walk and use toys inside for enrichment with as much rest time as needed. Your dog will also get to play with my dog throughout the day and access to an abundance of snuggle time.

Availability
I work from home so your pup would have full range of my house and fenced yard all day. My work day is flexible enough that I am able to play with them outside or taking them for a walk around my quiet neighborhood. I am able to emulate the routine they are used to so they experience the least amount of stress while you are away.
