Pet care experience
I've been around all sorts of animals since I was a small child, we had dogs, cats, cockatiels, fish and even some hermit crabs. Now that I'm an adult I've got 2 dogs of my own that I absolutely adore. Taking care of your pets will hopefully help me realize my lifelong goal of petting all the dogs. I look forward to hearing from you!

We are so happy and thrilled to say that our beagle loved her stay with Shanon. Shanon gave consistent and detailed updates and lots of pictures and videos. She was wonderful giving our dog the eye medication. Her own dogs welcomed and played so well with my dog as well.
Shanon was great with Mia. She kept me updated with pics and videos. I will definitely book with her again in the future.
Shanon became my cats’ new Favorite sitter! When I came home, they ignored me and looked for her. Needless to say, she was amazing and I would absolutely book her again!!

I think it's important to know their feeding and walking schedule and if they like to grab things they shouldn't if I leave the room. I think it's very important to know if there are things that scare them like fireworks or thunderstorms and what is the best way to calm and comfort them if they're scared.
A typical day
I love taking the dogs for long walks throughout my neighborhood. The harbor is one block over and I love the breeze that comes off the water. If the dog I'm watching enjoys swimming I love going up to Yorktown and taking them swimming in the river. That's one of my dog's favorite summer activities. Other than that we play a lot in the backyard followed by as many cuddles as your dog desires.

Availability
I'm currently on shore duty with the Navy so my days are pretty short. I arrive at work around 7:30 and I'm almost always gone by 9:30. I feed my dogs before I leave and then I get to hang out with them for the rest of the day when I get back home.
