Pet care experience
I have been housesitting a wide variety of animals for the last 27 years, to include reptiles, birds, rodents, spiders, snakes, house pets, and farm animals. In our travels we have also housesat all over the world, for a variety of animals, so I have a lot of experience, and animals love me! I am currently working part-time from home, in Death Valley National Park. I have always loved animals, but right now we do not have any to care for :o( so I would love to care for yours! We are very flexible with caring for your pets. We can give medications, take dogs to grooming appointments, walk them, or take them to the dog park. We adhere to the rules for your pets when we housesit, but tend to spoil them as well :o) We can simply visit and/or walk your dog, or we can spend the night at your house if you want house and pet sitting.

Excellent! Shannon's communication & coordination was wonderful! Most importantly, Panchita, seemed to have an great time with her across 2 days of daytime care. It was convenient having a dog sitter within the park and Shannon was perfect on all levels. I can't recommend her enough. She sent us updates and photos throughout the day. I hope we cross paths w/ Shannon again. She truly loves animals, and was the perfect match for our Welsh Terrier.
We were so grateful for Shannon for taking care of our Walden while we explored Death Valley NP. It seems like Walden had a great time! Lots of photos from his day. If you’re in Death Valley and need a sitter, book Shannon!
Shannon and Timothy took our “special needs” partly paralyzed wheelchair using dog Buddy for a whole day while I was visiting Death Valley and they gave him so much love and attention and walks. They went “above and beyond”, as they say. I couldn’t have visited Death Valley if I hadn’t found them because Buddy has unique needs that not everyone can accomodate. I feel lucky and grateful.

I'm pretty easygoing about breeds or requests - my only ask is that I be told if your dog has ever challenged a walker/sitter that has entered your house if I will be required to enter your house to retrieve/access your dog. I was bitten once by a pit bull while trying to enter the house to feed it while the owner was away, so I would prefer to have all information regarding your dog and non-family members. Thank you!
A typical day
I love to take long walks myself, so bringing a dog along would be a lot of fun! Of course, I can also watch and/or walk cats as well. We can take your dog walking within the fenced employee RV park, or out on the bike path, or take your dog to visit the local dog park. Cats are not a problem either, and I can walk them if they are used to that!

Availability
My work hours are flexible, so am available throughout the day to walk, let your dog or cat outside (supervised), and play with them. Your pet will have free roam of our Skoolie Tiny House during the day.
