Experienced Pet Care Taker
Pet care experience
I have cared for people's animals since 2012. I mainly did this pet-care for families while they were out of town. I have cared for dogs, puppies, cats, fish, horses, goats, a mule, and a peacock. I also volunteered for three years at an animal shelter in my hometown. I have house-sat for people as well, where I have lived in their house for a week or more while they were gone. I also grew up raising chickens and having numerous pets, so I am very comfortable around animals. I am willing to care for just about any sort of animal, and I can walk or exercise, feed, groom, and clean up after them. Please let me know if you are interested.

Shannon is the BEST!!! We were fortunate enough to have Shannon sit for us when we had to leave our puppy and adult dog for a family emergency. Shannon was wonderful with our adult dog. She gave her plenty of exercise and love so she didnt get jealous of the new puppy. Shannon was also amazing with the puppy. She monitored interactions with the bigger dog, kept her on her feeding and potty schedule, and continued her training so she didn’t slide backward while we were away. I felt so comfortable with my fur babies in her care. Both dogs love when she comes to visit and are always excited to see her. I can’t say enough about what an incredible person Shannon is. She is extremely responsible and caring. She will always be my first choice to care for our pups!
Shannon lived in our house with our dog and cat for a week while our family was in Hawaii, January 2019. The animals were in great condition when we returned, water full, and the house was clean as requested. She seems very responsible and no-nonsense. Her parents were very supportive. We will definitely ask her to house-sit/dog-sit again. Thanks Shannon!
Shannon has watched my 3 dogs, cat, horses, and guinea pig for over 5 years when we can’t be here. Very reliable and animals love her.
Shannon has grown up with pets: dogs, cat, chickens, parakeets, parrot, hermit crabs and fish. As she has grown, she has taken on greater responsibility for caring for our pets. She walks the dogs, cleans out litter boxes, cages, aquarium and chicken coop, and feeds the animals. When her father and I are away from home, she has the responsibility of caring for all of them, as well as our house. Shannon is kind-hearted, responsible and completely trustworthy! She will do a great job caring for your pets.

Safety, trust & environment
When I care for pets in other people's homes, I try to first talk to the pet owner about the instructions and expectations they have for me. Then, I just try to follow the instructions, so that their pets are cared for just as they want. If anything unexpected happens, I communicate with the pet owner to see how they want the situation to be handled.
Information Shannon P. would like to know about your pet
I think the most important information I like to know with a dog is if it has any sort of triggers or aggression towards other dogs or animals, in case we encounter them while out walking. I would also like to know if a dog has any health problems, so I know if there are activities that need to be avoided.
A typical day
I always try to give the dogs I take care of some extra affection and attention when I visit them, especially if their owners will be away a long time, as it helps settle them. I also am happy to play with dogs, such as playing fetch with them, in addition to walks.

I am about to start a job as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) that I will be doing part-time, and I will also be taking online college classes. As a CNA, I will be working 12-hour shifts where I would be away from the pets I am watching, but typically only be scheduled two-shifts a week. Depending on the needs of your pets, I can house-sit/pet-sit on my days-off, or if your pets are fine to be left alone for awhile, I can care for your pets while working around my work schedule.
