LONG TERM BOARDING (2 week minimum)

Pet care experience

*Well adjusted to senior dogs *Only dogs from one household at a time *Understanding, Patient & Caring I became a dog sitter to fill the void after the passing of my dearly missed black labs. Dogs that stay with me, get treated with the same tenderness & attention my dogs got. This 'lock-down era' has intensified the co-dependency between many dogs and their owners, which also creates excessive separation anxiety. A 2hr intro visit & a quick overnight visit are required as an anxiety assessment before a boarding reservation for a new dog can be booked. If the dog shows severe anxiety, more sessions will be needed. This is to help your dog understand that when they come to my house it's just a fun visit, not abandonment. I have been in the company of large dogs my entire life, professionally & leisurely, and I love caring for them. My main objective when sitting a dog, is to make them feel safe, and happy until their owners return. I have a large yard and take dogs out for several "outings" throughout the day so they get many chances to do their business. List of breeds I am the most familiar with: Black Labs German Sheppard's Beagles Bernese Mountain Dogs Pitties Boarding Routine: Some days we do a lot of little walks, other days we do a nice big walk (mostly when it's nice out) & we always take a lot of time for sniffing. In the summer months I lounge outside with the dogs a lot, in the winter i rely more on brain teasers to keep dogs entertained. We do one last outing before the dog joins me in my bed, or goes into theirs (most dogs want to be in my bed). If your dog requires intense exercise, please discuss it with me prior to the reservation. Safety: My yard is open, so I use leashes, either a leash I hold or a long one near where I am outside. I avoid other dogs & discourage strangers from approaching us on walks.

Shannon was great! Super easy going and really attentive to our dog’s needs. She was easily reachable and super flexible with pick up and drop offs. She put us at ease by doing a trial night before hand and it was great in getting the pups (and us!) more comfortable being away from home! Tyson really seems to have had a great time with her, we will definitely be using her as our go-to sitter next time we need our boy looked after!

Shannon is a great dog sitter, she is trust worthy and responsible, and very experienced with dogs. My dog (Benji) is very energetic and she handled him without any problems, and she played with him a lot as well! Benji got adapted really quickly, when I pick him up he almost didn’t want to leave because he really enjoyed the time with Shannon ! ? Would definitely recommend her to anyone who is in need of dog sitting !

Oscar enjoyed his time with Shannon, and we are so grateful that she kept him safe and happy during that terrible heatwave. Shannon is very direct and honest and obviously loves dogs a lot. Thanks!!

A typical day

I'm used to ALWAYS having a dog by my side (my dogs were off leash trained so they stuck to me). Lots of flexibility in how i interact with dogs, for the most part i simply observe their behavior to determine what kind of activity they need. Sometimes its just extra attention, could be a brain puzzle, cuddles or the need to play. Their language is fairly simple, we just need to know how to listen.
