Pet care experience
Dogs have been a part of my life since I was a child. I was involved in caring for them even at a young age. I have owned both cats and dogs on my own for the last 18 years. I also have experience with a variety of other animals due to past roommates. I currently own 2 very goofy pitbulls and one lazy cat. I have done a lot of house sitting for both family and friends. I am also experienced in caring for animals with various medical conditions whether it includes needing to give them medication in pill form or administer insulin shots. My favorite part of life is spending time with my fur babies and the only thing more fulfilling would be providing care support and a trustworthy experience for other pet parents that need it.

If I am taking care of a client's pet in their home I would like to meet with them ahead of time so I am familiar with them, their animal, the routine and placement of the necessary things. I will follow all directions to a T and make sure everyone involved feels comfortable trusting and cared for! Same goes for taking care of an animal in my home. A visit ahead of time would be needed to gauge the temperaments of the animals and make sure everyone gets along and is comfortable so we know exactly how to proceed when the time comes.

I do not foresee any difficulties with pets with special needs or particular behaviors. Every dog regardless of breed is as unique and different as people. I would rely on their owner to let me know what it is that they require.
A typical day
I would first ask the pet parents about their dog's usual routine and preferences. Beyond that it would depend on what the owner is comfortable with. We can walk around the block or I would find an appropriate environment in the area. As far as normal play I let the dog lead, be it fetch or tug of war or whatever they love most. Every dog is unique and most are pretty good at showing you what they like.

I very recently quit my career of the past 20 years. I was interested in finding a new path. After some soul searching and googling I decided that this would be the job that would be most rewarding for me. This would be my primary job so I would have plenty of time to devote to it.
