Pet care experience
I have been dog-sitting for friends and neighbors for at least 15 years and have been a dog owner for the last 12 years. I have experience with puppies and have taken care of several senior dogs. We currently have a small/medium chihuahua mix (22 lbs) who is very sweet. He does well with senior dogs too, respects that they are not going to play much or at all. With dogs that show interest, he’ll play all day! I also have a couple of weekly doggy daycare clients, both small dogs. I’m a huge dog lover and my favorite thing about rover is getting to meet and hangout with cool dogs 😍. I will send you tons of pictures because dogs are family and I want you to know your pup is safe and doing well.
Reviews
Amazing dog sitter. Very accommodating and our pup was happy. Made sure to send a lot of pictures too. Trusted.
Shannon was amazing! She sent lots of pics and updates. I could tell she really cared for my dog and ensured the environment was set up to make her comfortable.
Shannon took excellent care of Poppy and sent lots of pictures during Poppy's time there. The resident dog, Pippin, is friendly and playful and would be a great companion to any dog that visits!
Shannon and her family are absolutely amazing dog people. The status updates for our first boarding were awesome, and my dogs adjusted very well to the new environment!

I have a fenced in patio and a dog door for dogs on the smaller/medium side. We live in a townhouse. I always walk dogs before I start work and after, weather permitting. Depending on the owners preference and their dogs preferences, I allow dogs I watch to sleep in our room at night, or in the living room. First time clients I prefer board over the weekend when I can supervise the full time. It’s important to me that the dog is comfortable with us before being left for an extended amount of time.

Information Shannon N. would like to know about your pet
Things I need to know: Sleep habits, are they used to sleeping in the bedroom, a crate, in the living room? Feeding schedule and do they eat all their food at once or do they like to graze? Are they territorial about food or toys? Are they potty trained? Are they destructive if unsupervised? Can they jump a 6 foot fence? Are they a flight risk? Is there anything I can do to make them feel less anxious about being in a new place? Has your dog spent a lot of time with young children? I have a kid, so they need to be ok around children. I have regular doggy daycare clients, is your dog ok with other dogs?
A typical day
We go for walks twice daily in the neighborhood weather permitting. On weekends we go for longer walks at some of the parks. It really depends on the dog and their needs. My dog loves to play, so if they are interested there will be lots of that!

Availability
I work from home, part time so I will be home most of the time with your dog. I don't start work until after 10am so there is plenty of time in the morning for walks and play. Dogs have free range of the top two floors while I’m working. If they need more supervision, they can hangout in my office.
