Dog lover since forever!
Pet care experience
I've been a pet owner since I was about 4 years old. There has only been a time span of approximately three weeks of my life, since then, that I have not had a dog of my own. For the record, it was the WORST three weeks of my life. I've had personal experience with all size dogs, including giant breeds. I also have significant experience navigating life with reactive dogs (both people and other animals).
About Shannon M.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I think it's important to maintain a similar rhythm as dogs tend to be creatures of habit. My goal would be to learn as much about your daily / weekly rhythm as possible so that I can mirror the care you provide as closely as possible.
Information Shannon M. would like to know about your pet
I think it's important to know how your dog reacts to new people. Are they going to be excited to see me or nervous? I like to know that going in because it helps me understand how I should introduce myself to your dog. The next thing I'd want to know is whether your dog is reactive to people or dogs and under what circumstances (IE: barrier restriction, leash aggression, etc.)? After that, I like to understand your rhythm with your dog. When do you usually take them out in the morning, afternoon, evening? How far do you walk or how active or inactive are you with your dog?
A typical day
We live right on the river so I love to walk my own dogs along the river. There's a lot of mental stimulation provided by all the sites and smells, along with a lot of people and dog interactions.
Services
Shannon can watch in your home
Availability
I tend to plan my life around my own dog so I can be flexible, similar to most pet owners, haha. I have flexible days off and a flexible work schedule that helps to compliment my life with dogs.
