Home Away From Home for Your BFF!

Pet care experience

I’ve had my current dog, a 12 year old English Shepherd, for 10 years now. I have experience as a volunteer dog walker with Paws4Ever. I’ve also volunteered as a weekend foster for pups at Saving Grace. I’m a current horse leader volunteer at the NC Therapeutic Riding Center, so I also have horse experience! As the owner of a senior pup, I am well versed in giving medication.

Shannon is a terrific host. She obviously loves dogs, maintains a warm environment and keeps us posted as to to how he is doing while we are away. It’s easy to see that Snoopy enjoys his stays there. We would readily have Snoopy stay with Shannon at any time.

Excellent caregiver! Shannon handled my horse, dog, and cats with thoroughness and love. All was handled! I was able to enjoy my trip and not worry. I’ll definitely be hiring her again!

Loki has his second stay with Shannon this weekend and he had a blast! Shannon updated me with pictures and took him on long walks every day to get out some energy. It’s great to finally have a reliable and engaged sitter that my dog is familiar with. She even gave him a present of treats to go home with! He can’t wait for his third stay with her in a few weeks!

Shannon and Jonesy are the absolute best. Bean was so happy and well cared for. I honestly felt kind of bad bringing her home because I felt like she had it so good at their house. Shannon made Bean so comfortable, and spent so much time with her. I usually feel guilty leaving my dog but not in this case, Shannon treated her like family and my vacation was that much better knowing that Bean was in such good hands. Can't recommend Shannon enough. Thanks!

I have my own house with a fenced yard for your dog to enjoy! My neighborhood is great for walking, and there are multiple state parks with perfect hiking trails within easy driving distance if your pup is up for a hike! My English Shepherd loves other dogs and likes to make new friends. He’s an older guy, so he’s very chill and a great match with different types of personalities.

Information Shannon J. would like to know about your pet

Any boarders must be dog friendly and get along well with my resident pup, as well as be up to date on vaccinations and flea prevention. They must also be spayed / neutered. NOTE: All stays starting before 8AM or ending after 8PM will require an additional night. We need our beauty sleep!

A typical day

What can your dog expect while staying at my abode? 1) LOTS OF WALKS! For my younger / more active guests - I love to hike, so if your dog is up to it we’ll be hitting Eno River or Umstead State Parks (or one of the other myriad natural areas nearby). For my older / chiller guests - my neighborhood provides plenty of sniffing and leg stretching opportunities and we’ll be out multiple times a day. 2) PLAY TIME! My fenced in backyard is a safe spot for zoomies, playing fetch or frisbee, and exploring. I have a house stocked with all kinds of dog toys and chews. 3) CHILL TIME! If it’s hockey season, we’ll probably be hanging out and watching the Canes. If not, there’s always Netflix. All guests are welcome to snuggle on the couch. 4) MAKING FRIENDS! Jonesy, my resident dog, is a super dog friendly older guy who has been there, done that. He probably won’t play much with your pup, but he has a calming presence that most dogs enjoy! 5) BEST SLEEP EVER! Does your dog normally sleep on your bed? We can do that here! Prefer a dog bed? I’ve got one! I also have a crate with soft bedding available if that’s a better fit.
