I've been a dog lover all of my life, a dog-parent to rescue hounds since 2011, and spent many years fostering dozens of dogs as a volunteer foster for a local rescue organization. I've had the honor of caring for everything from spunky 4-month old pups, to geriatric sweet old souls, to dogs with special needs, and everything in between. I have experience administering meds, catering to special diets, helping to heal the sick pups, and all the special circumstances that come along with fostering those in need. My specialty, though, is TLC. Snuggles and ear skritches and time spent soaking up the sun in my fenced in yard are a daily occurence. I work from home and therefore have a very flexible schedule, and also able to accommodate dogs who need a little more attention or frequent potty breaks, etc. Special experience with senior dogs and timid/shy/skittish dogs.

My dog, Maxie, and I love Shannon! She is super caring and helpful. She has taken great care of Max twice. She has gone above and beyond to make sure that my dog has been well cared for and she is great about communicating updates as well as concerns in a timely manner. We are so grateful for her!

Lola (7months old) had an awesome time at Shannon's... getting to play with the other dogs, lots of snuggles and attention and kept out of trouble. Shannon was flexible with drop off and pick up times. She sent tons or pics and even a video! Overall it was a great experience for Lola and us and we'll definitely consider reaching out to Shannon for future our future trips!

I have a fenced in backyard. Dogs are free to roam about my house when I am home and also when gone if that’s what works well for your dog. If they need to be crated at bedtime or when I’m gone, that is easily accommodated!

I have two easygoing 25 lb beagle mixes at home, so when possible, a meet & greet prior to stay would be ideal. Your dog must be dog-friendly as we'll all be sharing the same spaces in the home.
A typical day
I work from home full time, so if your pup is staying with me they'll get to hang out with my dogs and myself all day. If the weather is nice, we'll often work from the backyard where there is no shortage of sunshine to bask in, squirrels to yell at, or neighbors to sniff through the fence. Walks are a fun adventure - depending on your dog's needs we can take a little jaunt around the neighborhood, or a longer stroll along the beautiful Shingle Creek path (so many sniffs!). If I'm coming to you for a drop-in visit, I'm happy to cater to your dog's needs - need a walk? I'd love to! More of a snuggle & scratch my belly kinda dog? Always up for that. You let me know what will make your dog happy,!

Availability
I work full time from home, occasionally needing to go into the office but rarely for more than a few hours at a time- so your pup will get plenary of attention and frequent outside breaks.
