Love. Care. Compassion. Snuggles.

Pet care experience

Animals are an absolute passion for me. Just ask my husband who calls me Dr. Doolittle. Over the years I have rescued all three of my cats - they were all found outside when they were just babies. I have also rescued several species of wildlife that were either orphaned or injured and taken them to Fellow Mortals or Wildlife in Need Center for rehabilitation including Goldfinch, baby raccoons, baby opossums, adult cormorant, seagulls, squirrels, etc. I have helped several stray animals over the years find their way back home as well including a pot bellied pig who wandered out of the gate of a neighbor's yard. With my compassionate and caring nature and lifetime love of all living creatures, along with my experience working in veterinary care, I can take care of even the most demanding pet perfectly. My husband says I am an animal whisperer and maybe that's true since I am able to "speak cat" to our three special girls - cats needs are most definitely unique and can sometimes be quite challenging. I have been passionate about animals since I was a little girl rescuing any neighborhood creature in need from a baby black squirrel, a pair if orphaned Starlings, to neighborhood pets who were injured. My first pet as an adult was a sweet dog who was laying in the road having been hit by a car. I carefully assessed her and used my jacket to gently carry her to my car. After taking Shadow (my chosen name for this sweet, scared girl) to the vet and having her injuries treated (which included a broken leg), I was unable to find her owner. I took her home, nursed her back to health and the rest is history. Now 30 years later, my love and passion for animals has taken over. grown over the years. For the last 9 years I worked for a local veterinary clinic and have extensive experience with challenging dog and cat behavioral issues. own two cats and one dog – all are extremely well taken care of. Therefore, I am able to provide the same amount of love and care for your dog as I do it for my own pets. My comprehension of the needs of pets, especially those of dogs and cats, is outstanding – from feeding them food with the right nutrients to

Shannon is a lover of animals, all kinds; Shannon had walked our Holly and MiniXena. Early on when we adopted Holly who was found in the woods of Tulsa, OK and knew no human touch, Shannon took Holly and her dog, Peter, to her home to help Holly adjust to humans and dog interaction. Without Shannon's love of Holly, Holly would not be the loving dog she is today. I am eternally grateful to Shannon for that and her continued love and care of my dogs.

Shannon is a person of respect and integrity that has a love of all animals. I have the pleasure of having her care for my three pets. One is a 12 year old guy, one is my super chill 2 year old girl and the other is my higher need almost 2 year old girl. I love that I can trust her to get them out, give them love and food and water as we are gone during the day. It means a lot to me to have someone I trust in and out of my home. I am so glad that we have her!

Safety, trust & environment

I can care for your pets in your home, so they remain comfortable in their own environment. with their own things and smells. I will not pet sit in my home as I have three cats and a senior dog who would not be happy with other pets coming into their space. But I will give your pets all the love and attention they deserve as if they were my own in your home.

Information Shannon F. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have any behavioral issues I should be aware of? Even if it only happened once or twice—your dog will be more anxious and stressed while they’re gone. Which means they could act out. What is your philosophy on training, positive reinforcement, and discipline? Does your pet take any medication or have any health issues? Are there any other specific house rules? How does your dog do with other dogs, people, and children? Any triggers or behaviors during walking that I need to be aware of such as dog aggression, pulling, etc.?

A typical day

I love going on long walks as I know from experience that a tired dog is a good dog. I love to play fetch, give excellent belly rubs, ear rubs, kisses and all the extra attention that they deserve. I may also work on any basic training commands or special training that you request. With cats I enjoy any type of play that they prefer (i.e. wants, laser lights, bird toys, catnip) rubs on the head and chin (since most of the rest of their bodies are usually off limits) and long slow eye blinks!
