Pet care experience
I first fell in love with working with dogs while helping raise my childhood Airedale terrier. This led to me becoming the designated neighborhood dog walker and sitter and motivated me to volunteer at the local animal shelter where I specialized in socializing the dogs in preparation for adoption. Since moving to Denver 3 years ago I have been fortunate enough to have several wonderful doggos consistently in my life, including my former roommate's black lab/collie mix, Finn, and my ex-boyfriend's puppy, Dolly Parton. My current roommate also has two large doggos that I help care for, Frannie and Brinkley. I am a mental health therapist and I consider spending time with dogs a part of my self-care routine. I do believe that all dogs are therapeutic, some just have advanced degrees. Your dog child will be safe and sound with me! *I do work M-F 8:30am-4:30pm with little flexibility, so I would be available for early evening drop in visits or over night stays on weekdays*

Shannon staying in my home with my pup so she would be comfortable and did a fantastic job! My home looked basically untouched and my pup was very happy. I will definitely be booking Shannon again!
Shannon was great! My dogs loved her as soon as they met her during our “meet and greet,” which Shannon suggested and made time for - even though I was booking last minute. Shannon sent pictures of my 2 dogs throughout the day. Both dogs were very happy and calm when I returned home! I would definitely re-book with Shannon.

I would like to know how he acts around other dogs and children, just to be aware of potential interactions on walks and hikes. It is also helpful to know if the dog has separation anxiety or food aggression. The more information I have the more I will be able to respect their boundaries. I enjoy all breeds of dogs but I do have a soft spot in my heart for terriers.
A typical day
I enjoy going on walks around parks and also on hikes with dogs (as long as the owner is comfortable). I also do love cuddling with dogs, playing tug-of-war, and throwing frisbees. It really depends on whatever the dog is interested in doing as well.
