Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Shannon, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am returning to the Rover following a break I took due to moving house and greater work responsibilities. I no longer have the luxury of a garden so am only offering walks, drop in visits, and home stays. I have lots and lots of experience caring for dogs, and immensely enjoyed my time on Rover, it is really special to be able to build relationships with different dogs and their owners. Growing up in a family of dog lovers I have always been surrounded by lots of different breeds, temperaments and age dogs - my sisters first word was even “doggy”. I am very comfortable dealing with any size dog, from the giant breeds to toy, I love them all! I understand that your dog is part of your family, so when they are with me they become a part of mine. I have a genuine interest in animal behaviour and will be very happy to help with training while your dog is with me. I do not claim to be an expert, but am happy continue the training regime that you may have already started. If you are looking for someone to look after a puppy, I’m happy to take them if not yet housetrained. Please do reach out and talk to me about your needs and how I can help.
Reviews
Ollie always lives his stays with Shannon!! A home from home!
Shannon was fantastic with Tilly and we will absolutely be using her when we go out of town again! She took really good care of her and Tilly enjoyed her stay very much!
Shannon has looked after Aura twice now; once for Daycare at relatively short notice and then for a couple of nights boarding. She has been brilliant and professional on both occasions, she made sure that Aura took her medication when she needed it (which isn't always easy), and provided plenty of updates. She even went the extra mile after daycare and brought Aura back home which helped us out massively. Both times Aura had lots of fun and received lots of fuss and attention and we're sure she's very excited to see Shannon again soon!
Ollie loved his time with Shannon and we are so pleased that he has found another human to love him! Shannon is such a lovely person and it is so reassuring for us that Ollie is being cared for as if he were her own.

I am not able to care for pets in my own home, but am happy to do so in your home or to drop in and take them for walks as needed. If looking after your dog in your home and you would like me to stay, I will follow your routine with your dog to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible. I find it is also beneficial for me to take your dog on a couple of walks, or to stay over for one night before you leave. During my stay I aim to leave your home cleaner than I found it and will never touch anything that I don’t need to. I do ask to be able to use a table or desk during my stay so that I may get some work done around caring for your pup.

Information Shannon D. would like to know about your pet
Do let me know if your dog has any special requirements, likes, dislikes or fears which I can accommodate for. Also please let me know their level of training, and if they are friendly with other dogs and children that we might meet on walks. I always ask to have a meet and greet prior to the booking being confirmed, so we can go over all the details then.
A typical day
I defer to you on what your dog’s routine should be, but a typical day looks like this: Early morning walk, with lots of praise and treats for good behaviour. Followed by breakfast, a nice nap (for the dog!) while I get some work done. Play breaks every now and then to go out in the garden and play some fetch or tug of war with their favourite toy. Lunchtime walk if they are able to (senior dogs might be happy to have another snooze). Then another longer walk in the evening followed by dinner, play time, sofa chill and bed!
