Pet care experience
Hello! We are Shannon and Chad, and we both absolutely love dogs! We took a bit of a break from caring for new pups due to the pandemic, but are excited to be back! For several years we fostered dogs and have been the go-to people for our friends pets when they need to be watched, so we've cared for dogs large and small, with all personalities and needs! In March 2019 we adopted our own dog, Tucker, who is a beagle/heeler mix and loves everybody and dog he meets. He is a very chill guy who loves a good nap, but is also down for long walks and hikes with lots of sniffs. Since he is an older fella, we do prefer to watch moderate energy dogs. As dog parents ourselves, we know how hard it is to leave your fur-child behind! If your dog stays with us, we will treat him or her like our own, with plenty of walks, cuddles and play time. We enjoy sending pictures and updates to you throughout the day so you know your pet is well taken care of! We are both home full-time, so your pup will get lots of love and attention!
Reviews
Shannon and Chad did a great job watching our pup, Marco! We were nervous to leave him for the first time and Shannon was so helpful making us feel comfortable. We loved the excellent photos she took of Marco during his stay and the frequent updates she sent on how he was doing. Shannon was also flexible with our early drop off and late pick up, which we really appreciated. We couldn't be happier with their care and know that Marco had a great time staying with Shannon, Chad, and Tucker!
My husband just picked up our extremely lively 2 year old Boston Cotton from his weekend with Shannon and Chad. He came back happy and tired out from all the attention, walks and fetches. When we board him he doesn’t eat much, but he went through his food as if he was home. I just can’t say enough about how well he was truly cared for. We loved getting the pictures to share with our equally lively toddler grandson, and couldn’t be happier to have found a home away from home for our pup when we visit DC!
My dog is my life and I can stay with full confidence that I trust these two with my little one. They were great and took such good care of her, I almost think she was sad to leave them. You can tell they love animals because they treat them like royalty. Dixie had a great vacation with Shannon and Chad.
My dog had a wonderful time at daycare with Shannon. I appreciate that Shannon first scheduled a meet and greet so that my dog could meet hers. Shannon has been very easy to communicate with and helpful with scheduling. She also provided great photos and feedback on Ginger's first visit. Shannon is clearly someone who cares a lot about dogs and I am very comfortable leaving my senior dog with her.

Information Shannon & Chad B. would like to know about your pet
We would love to do a meet-and-greet (outdoors with humans wearing masks, of course!) with your dog before sitting him/her to make sure everybody is a good fit! Our dog Tucker loves every dog (he was used as the behavior test dog at the shelter before we adopted him), but we always do a meet-and-greet so you feel comfortable, too, and we can go over your dog's care needs! We would also love to know about your dog's personality, likes/dislikes, bedtime, feeding and walking/potty break routine, any food allergies, and anything else to make their stay more comfortable - and for you to feel good while you're away, too!
A typical day
Your dog will get plenty of love and attention during their stay. We love doing dog friendly activities as much as possible! In addition to the typical cuddles and play, we love going on walks in North Brightwood/Takoma, spending time in our fenced in yard, hiking and more. We're also happy to focus more on snuggles, belly rubs and nap time if your dog is more laid back. We are very flexible, so you tell us what your dog likes to do!
