I have had a dog since the day I was born and I firmly believe a family isn’t complete without a pet. I now have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 guinea pigs and I couldn’t imagine my life without them! I graduated from The University of Delaware in 2019 with my degree in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology and have made my passion for working with animals a reality. I have spent the past 4 years working at The Raptor Trust, a rehabilitation center for wild birds. While working here I have gained valuable experience learning how to administer medications and injections, check for broken bones, and perform basic medical exams. I also spent three months last year working at Avian Behavior International one of the top bird training facilities in the country. During my time there, I trained a variety of animals, including dogs, pigs, poultry, hoofstock, parrots, and birds of prey utilizing operant conditioning with a focus on positive reinforcement. I also studied animal behavior and body language, which taught me multiple ways to work through behavioral problems that might arise.
