Pet care experience
I’ve always had at least one dog in my home until my Roscoe passed a little over a year ago. I have experience with all ages…puppies to seniors. I used to be a volunteer dog walker at Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, so I have experience with rescue pets as well. I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to pet sit or check in on pets for friends while they are away from home. I see that there is a real need for pet care in our community, so I decided to put my skills and love for animals to work!
Reviews
Shanna once again did a great job with our dogs. It was a rainy weekend and our house was spotless when we got home. Thank you so much!
Shanna was great. She stayed at our house for 3 nights with our dogs. The house was in perfect condition when we got home and our dogs were well taken care of and happy! We will definitely be using Shanna again!
Shanna is so kind and was faithful to stay with Lola to keep her company. I appreciate her safety considerations as well, she knows what she is doing.
Shanna did an amazing job of caring for my dog, chickens and chicks. She went above and beyond what and spent a significant amount of time with my dog Spirit, exercised her very regularly and made sure she was taken care of. To be honest, Shanna took better care of my pets than I would have. I’m very grateful. She is very trustworthy and I have no concerns with her having access to my home. I am very grateful for Shanna and I highly recommend her.

I like to take frequent walks, depending on the temperature outside and the age and health of your dog. For younger and more active dogs, I enjoy lots of playtime and interaction, or I can chill on the couch with your dog if he/she is older and less active! Your pets miss you terribly when you’re away; I want to make your absence as pleasant for them as possible!
Information Shanna T. would like to know about your pet
I need to know your dog’s diet, daily routine, medications and health issues, and overall energy level. It’s also extremely important to know how your dog tolerates other dogs, animals and people, and anything that causes your dog to be afraid, such as fireworks and thunderstorms, and what you do to soothe him or her.
A typical day
Activities would depend on the dog, but I typically enjoy lots of walks with lots of stops for smelling for your dog. We can walk around your neighborhood or take a trip to the park, Greenway, or other great nearby spots (weekends only). If your dog is energetic, we can play fetch in your fenced backyard! Note: Dogs over 40 lbs. will need to walk well on a leash or have a fenced property.

Availability
****At this time, I do not have any availability for daily dog walking. I am available for pet sitting and drop in visits weekends (Friday through Monday), unless my calendar states otherwise. I currently work part-time (4 nights) third shift in health care. I’m available for dog walking or drop in visits between 10 and 1 Monday through Friday and pet sitting in your home or drop-in visits on weekends (Friday through Monday). If you live in my immediate neighborhood, pet sitting can be arranged for longer periods, as long as it’s ok to leave overnight for work.
