Pet care experience
As a student I've chosen not to own my own pet out of respect for the amount of time and attention that should be devoted to them. Pet sitting is my way of getting in my animal fix! I've always felt a special connection to animals. As a kid we had a few dogs, mice, and birds. My first official dog sitting job was a rescued border collie who didn't like many people, but somehow he liked me! I took care of him for 4-5 years until he passed. From there through word of mouth I've taken care of a variety of dogs and cats, even a guinea pig and chickens. I feel animals keep us connected to the nature and can teach valuable lessons.

Shanika has been a fantastic house and pet sitter for our two dogs (one large breed; one small breed), and elderly indoor/outdoor cat. She's reliable, responsible, and really good with the animals. She's a good communicator and thoughtful care-taker of both our home, and our beloved pets. I highly recommend her!
Shanika has cared for our three animals ( a feisty cat, one Cavtzu, and a Lab mix) for the last several years, and we could not have asked for a better sitter. Always caring, and responsible, prompt to respond, and great communicating around arrival times, meds, pet needs, etc. We were sad to see her go. Would recommend her in a heartbeat!
Shanika took in two dogs in need of re-homing during our time living together. She was committed to providing them a comfortable home, giving them love and attention, regular walks, and keeping an eye on their health and wellness. She has dog and cat sat for my siblings many times over the past 10 years, ranging from a day to a month! She's trustworthy, loves animals, has strong communication skills and has great judgement. In addition, Shanika is laid back, easy to talk to, interesting and kind. Highly recommended!

A typical day
I'm new to the area, so unless they require a strict walking routine, our walks will involve exploring new places. I love doggy cuddles, playing fetch, anything that helps me to engage with and get to know them!
