Pet care experience
I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with 4 years experience working with dogs professionally, and I was a part time pet-sitter for 15 years. I love all animals. I received my training at a positive-reinforcement based dog training facility which hosted group classes, puppy socials and puppy camps. I have experience working with dogs at all comfort and skill levels. I am looking forward to meeting some new dogs and cats (and hopefully some other pets, too!) in my neighborhood. I am Pet CPR and First Aid certified, and took a course on caring for senior pets. Growing up my family had nearly every pet you can think of: dogs, cats, chickens, goats, reptiles (snakes and an iguana) ducks, a pot belly pig and a cow. My cat Magnolia can vouch for my petting abilities, and I also have some human references who can attest to my dog walking and animal handling skills. I was a volunteer at Nevada Humane Society where I learned basic techniques for working with shelter dogs and cats. I am patient and gentle while understanding appropriate boundaries and behavior correction techniques (positive reinforcement all the way!) The comfort, safety and happiness of your pets are my highest priority.
Reviews
Shanelle was fantastic! Very communicative, was great with my pup, and I highly recommend her!
Shanelle has been awesome with my puppy! She’s clearly thoughtful, considerate, and thorough, and I feel totally comfortable when I know she’s with Archie.
Shanelle is great! Reliable, very prompt in all communication and most importantly my puppy loves her. Highly recommend.
We’ve used Shanelle a few times now and will continue to do so for our dog walking needs! Very responsive and great with our senior dog.

Safety, trust & environment
All walks will be conducted on leash. I prefer to get as much information as possible about your dog's comfort level around other dogs, humans, children and other animals. If your dog is sensitive or reactive to anything we may encounter on a walk (bicycles, skateboards, buses, kids, cats, squirrels, etc.) please let me know! If your dog has any dietary restrictions (yay, treats!) please let me know.
Information Shanelle D. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any food allergies or shows any signs of discomfort/ fear while out on walks. Does your dog react to other dogs or humans while on a walk?
A typical day
I can work with your dog on loose leash walking, regaining attention from distractions and some tricks. If you’d prefer a fun, carefree walk we can do that, too! I often let the dog show me which direction they’d like to go, and I encourage them to sniff as much as they’d like. Sniffing provides a great deal of mental stimulation for dogs, so this part of the walk can tire them out as quickly as the exercise!
Services

Availability
I am typically available for walks or check-ins Thursdays between 10a and 3p and Saturday/ Sunday between 10a and 4p. When I’m not walking your dog, I’m usually coaching other dogs on polite walking, impulse control and managing reactivity.
