I have been taking care of dogs since I was a little kid. While I have never had the pleasure of owning a dog myself due to my sister's allergies, my extended family has always relied on me to walk their dogs and dog sit while they go on vacation. When my grandparents adopted their bichon, I stayed with them for about a week helping the puppy adjust to its new life. Some more specialized experience I have had is helping care for a dog that lost function of its back legs. My best friend's dog had a lower back injury and needed heavy assistance. My schedule is incredibly open as well. There are only about five hours a day I am not available with consistent breaks in between and I would have no problem sharing that schedule if convenient. I constantly have my phone on me so reaching me while I am not in class should be very reliable. If someone needed to cancel on me last minute that would be no problem at all. My apartment is relatively small and while I don't have a yard, I do live right up the hill from the Church Square Dog Park. If I were taking some's dog on a walk I would probably go there before they needed to be back unless an owner told me not to. I am super excited by the opportunity to work with dogs and getting to know them.
