Pet care experience
I have always had dogs. My first dog was deaf and one my current dogs has limited use of his hind legs, while the other has anxiety issues, so I know how to handle dogs requiring special attention. I've had dogs with both excitable and calm personalities and I love all dog personalities. I’ve also had multiple cats and am experienced with other “exotic” animals, all of which I would be happy to care for along with the dogs. Dogs with no training or extensive training are both loved. I can do some training if asked; I have trained my last two dogs. I am flexible with my schedule and prices. I will bring treats for your dogs. I can handle multiple dogs, as well as other animals, at a time and can give special attention to each, as I have had more than one dog at once and care for each equally. Taking care of dogs is my dream job. Thank you for allowing me to care for your dogs and other pets!

My fur baby and I love working with Shana! She is very communicative and responsive (within a few hours, if not minutes!), and she has great attention to detail, e.g., double-checking which meal Papaya has eaten when I drop her off and also flagging any concerns to me. For our pickups and dropoffs, she is always either on time or, to my surprise, early. We actually booked two stays with her almost back to back, and the second time I dropped Papaya off, she was so excited to see Shana that she started hopping on her hind legs and then proceeded to walk off with her happily--without even turning around to look at me or to say good-bye, lol. Clearly, she has a new favorite second mom! We would definitely love to work with Shana again and highly recommend her.

I love all breeds, I don’t believe in “problem breed” dogs, it’s all in the individual personality. Before meeting your dog, I would like to know how trained your dog is, just so I know how many treats to bring. More useful information would be how well your dog takes to strangers and any special needs or habits I should be aware of to accommodate.
A typical day
I can play with your dogs with their favorite toys or just spend time petting them. If you want your dogs to be walked, we can go on walks around the block or to nearby parks. I can take your dogs to their favorite places or on their usual routes, as well as exploring my favorite hikes for variety.
