Pet care experience
We have a dog of our own and the boys take very good care of him by running, feeding, playing, and cuddling him! Sammy (our dog) loves to play with other dogs and is very friendly. We have 3 older school-age boys and often work from home. So, someone is usually home to stay with the dogs. We like to have pet care jobs for the kids to help with because it gives them something productive to do! We care for our dog by making sure he gets exercise and activity daily and would do that for your dog(s). We feed Sammy breakfast and dinner but it’s not a problem if your dog(s) needs 3 meals a day. Our boys LOVE dogs and they will cuddle with them plenty! Dog washing/brushing is optional with an extra fee.

This was the first time I had used Rover and it was the perfect first experience! Shana was great about answering any and all questions I had beforehand. She sent pictures each day and kept me informed on how things were going. If I’m ever in need of a dog sitter in the Wichita area again, I will for sure book with them again!

We have a fenced in yard but always let them in when they are done outside. My dog is kenneled when we are out of the house but whatever your dog is used to is fine with us. Please make sure your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations including bordetella (kennel cough).

We are flexible with different dog needs and understand that some dogs need more attention. We find that our house might be a little too busy for older, little dogs. They don’t seem as happy here. But all the other dogs that we have had seem to settle in quickly and have a lot of fun.
A typical day
A typical day is up about 7 am for breakfast and playtime. My dog, Sammy, is really good at reading the energy level of other dogs. He will play more or rest more. The dogs like to go in and out a lot throughout the day. Dinner is about 5pm. Sammy never forget to remind us! Sometimes there is a lot of playtime after dinner! We are in bed about 11pm. If the weather is nice, we might go on a walk if they need more exercise. We don’t allow dogs in our bedroom at night but our kids like to sleep with dogs if your dog needs to cuddle during the night!

Availability
My husband works from home when he is not traveling for work. I am home some days but work at the elementary school most weekdays. Someone is home in the afternoon and evenings to play with the dogs.
