A second home & pawfect holiday <3

Pet care experience

Hiya! I'm Serena, originally from Richmond, now living in Eastbourne with my partner, Darrell. I've been around animals my whole life and have an ever-growing love for them, no matter the shape or size! I joined Rover to make some new play mates for my dog, Rufus & also to give other pet owners the reassurance of leaving their pets in safe, caring hands, where they can trust that they’ll have everything they need🤍 My partner and I are very outdoorsy people and spend a lot of time exploring new places no matter the weather. We ensure that everything we do is dog-friendly, such as camping, hiking, swimming and much more which is why we love looking after pets that can enjoy it too! Of course, we treat every dog we have as one of our own & ensure they stay happy & healthy. Our Cavapoo, Rufus gets along with all breeds and has become very good at settling in nervous dogs whilst also appreciating when dogs prefer to have their space. I have also owned rescue dogs in the past, so I am well-experienced with anxious dogs, separation anxiety, reactive dogs, and behaviour cues. My passion for animals (in general) has led me to study Physiotherapy, with a vision of becoming a Veterinary Physiotherapist so that I can continue to help animals in a larger capacity. I usually provide regular updates via Whatsapp / text. I am also happy to provide these via Rover, please let me know your preference! :) Services: Dog walking, boarding, plenty of fun walks, recall practice, bathing, medication, accessory cleaning, bed cleaning, grooming (without cutting), cuddles, access to plenty of toys and treats, feeding & keeping hydrated, socialisation and attention to their individual needs. Whether your pup just needs somewhere for the night, weekend, or day, I would love to be the one to help :)

Serena was amazing with Freddy and Polly. So much so I didn't think they would want to come back! Lovely photos and videos of them walking up in the downs, along the seaside as well as relaxing and playing in Serena's lovely home and garden. And their lovely dog Rufus was a true friend to my two. Will definitely be booking Serena again as soon as possible.

Serena took such a great care of our furry boy, we were worried he wouldn’t want to come back home with us! ? They went on several lovely walks and she provided us with constant updates. Thank you, Serena! Parker surely is looking forward to his next stayover ?

Information Serena F. would like to know about your pet

To make your pets stay perfect, it would be great to know the following: -Food preferences (times and amounts) -If they’re allowed treats - If they are happy to be bathed / groomed -How their recall is, or if they can be off-lead -Likes, dislikes, triggers etc. -If they are okay in the car -Where they sleep -How they are with other dogs -How they are with other people -Any needs that you have as an owner 

A typical day

Mornings and late afternoons usually involve a long walk in one of the many beautiful woodland, river, or beachy nearby areas. The dogs are always fed after a walk (unless told otherwise). Throughout the day we go on a few shorter walks so the dog(s) can stretch their legs, use the toilet, and burn off some more energy if needed. I usually go to places where dogs can be let off lead, however if your pup cannot be off lead then I have training leads / extendable leads available. I will also always practice recall where possible. Caring for animals is my passion. My priority is to make sure that the dogs I care for are relaxed, happy and have all their needs met throughout their time with me. I believe that owners should feel as though they are leaving their pet with a trustworthy friend or family member, rather than a stranger! Which is why I’m more than happy for meet and greets & have my phone on & available all the time for calls, videos, updates, and pics. I prefer owners to feel relaxed when they’re away so I am happy for calls / texts any time of the day or night :)

Availability

I am currently at home most days, apart from when I have to go into University which is only 5 minutes away and not for long periods of time. My partner, Darrell usually works from home which means we can provide double attention. There is access to the garden, toys, water, doggy paddling pool (summer), dog beds & furniture all day.  Rough routine (adaptable for each pooch): 6am: Early morning walk along the beach, park, or downs. 8am: Breakfast. 12: Short walk / toilet break. 4/5pm: Walk in the park / beach / downs. 6pm: Dinner. 10pm: Short walk before bed. Weekends: Every weekend tends to be different, especially depending on who we are looking after, but you will always be updated! We try and make sure that every dog staying with us knows they can still have fun when they're away from home; therefore we like to find dog-friendly places that allows for burning off energy and play-time. Pooches will always be returned clean, tired & happy! I take great consideration to each breed and cater to each dogs needs throughout their stay, previously looking after older dogs, younger dogs, less physically able dogs, dogs with health conditions, breathing difficulties and much more.
