Vet Tech for Pet Sitting!
Pet care experience
I have lived with at least one dog my whole life, and have had dog walking and pet sitting businesses for cats and dogs in the past. I have personal experience taking care of cats, dogs, rodents, birds, reptiles and fish. I am currently a veterinary technician at River Cove Animal Hospital, and so I am also very skilled in administering medications, and I have great attention to detail should a pet have any special needs. I also have experience with knowing if a pet (hopefully not) needs to be seen by a veterinarian. I have experience with training dogs and cats, and so I am able to give your pet the freedoms and restrictions that they are accustomed to at home so that they feel the most comfortable with as few changes to their routine as possible. I love all animals and am especially passionate about ensuring that pets are happy and entertained when they are away from their families.
Reviews
Seneca is amazing with my dog. She is always willing to cater to various things I ask her to do with my pup And I am so grateful for that. I am at ease during the day when I know she is coming to walk her. Book her, she’s great!
Seneca was awesome! She was able to come when I asked just the day before and took my dog on a long walk that tired her out!

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a large three story house in Burlington with a relatively large yard for supervised/leashed outside time. There is plenty of room in my house for playing and indoor exercise if a pet does not enjoy outside time (otherwise, daily walks outside would be in order). I live within walking distance from a pathway in the woods for pets that enjoy a mild hike and/or sniffing the wilderness. All of my classes at UVM are within a 5 minute walk from my house, and I return home between each of my classes - I am able to give pets frequent attention and bathroom breaks outside or frequent monitoring/medical administrations if they have any special needs. I am very willing to have pets spend the night with me in my room if they tend to get lonely at night, and pets are welcome on the furniture if they are comfortable there. I have one cat who loves other kitties and is indifferent to dogs (he has met many and could not care less about any of them), and I am able to keep him in a separate part of the house if a pet is not too happy with cats.

Information Seneca P. would like to know about your pet
I am welcoming towards all breeds, and towards special needs pets. I would love to know how your pet interacts with cats so that I can make appropriate arrangements with my cat. I would also love to know how your pet interacts with dogs, children, and other people in case we meet any of them on our walks. Any special needs or instructions for your pet would obviously be something that I would love to know about prior to sitting him/her so that I can prepare my house and schedule accordingly. I would also love to know your behavior preferences for your pet (furniture or no furniture and things like that).
A typical day
We can go on walks in the woods near my house, around the block, through UVM campus, or downtown to the parks by the water - whatever your pet prefers! We can also have plenty of indoor playtime and lots of snuggling. We can also have training time if your pet is working on certain tricks/skills.

Availability
I am available to care for animals everyday of the week, and most weekends depending on a specific pet's needs. While I do work at River Cove Animal Hospital as a vet tech, I do this part time (3 hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 7 hours every other Saturday). I go to classes at UVM which is a 5 minute walk from my home, and I return home between classes; I am never away from home for more than 1.5 hours during the day, and then the 3 hours on the nights that I work. I am also able to bring pets to the vet office that I work at should they need medical attention or monitoring during the times that I work. I would love to set up a regular schedule with families and their pets if they are looking to set up regular daycare or overnight stays, but I am also more than willing to watch pets for extended periods of time when their families have to go out of town.
