I've typically been around medium sized and larger dogs, but know smaller breeds are just as full of energy and affection. Knowing a breed ahead of time is nice, however not a requirement of mine.

When we go on walks, I usually like to take furry friends on a predetermined route--this allows us to make walks efficient. I tend to have variety in the pace, balancing jogging with walking for an additional fun factor and added exercise for the pup. Occasionally, I will go to larger parks to provide a change of environment with the same principles for walking.
