Pet care at the highest standard!

Pet care experience

I grew up with a rescue dog who is extremely skittish. I am in touch with the needs and behaviors of rescue dogs and will do everything in my power to make them feel comfortable with me and in my home. I have raised a golden retriever puppy (Theodore) from 6 weeks up to 8 months so far, my plan with him is to train him to be a therapy dog. Currently I have 2 certificates from Awesome Dawgs Dog training. One of them is a puppy training class, and the second is a level 1 training certificate. These encompass basic dog training and behavior as well as understanding how dogs play and when to intervene if needed. One rule I follow when it comes to training dogs and taking care of dogs is to reinforce positive behavior and ignore bad behavior. I WILL NEVER punish your dog or my own. I will never yank a leash or cage them for doing something bad. I am currently a college student taking classes on campus T/TH from 12:30 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. (with a 2 hours commute one way.) Every other day of the week is open. I do not have a very big yard so all dog exercise is done either on the leash or by going to a dog park, lake, hike, etc.. I have a finished basement that is completely empty that your dog can use if you have a dog that is very skittish. Dogs are welcome on furniture. There is a very friendly and playful golden retriever that I own in my house. If you have a playful friendly dog I'm sure they would get along very well. If your dog is standoffish and not very playful boarding at my house might not be the best choice.

This was the first time using Rover and Sean. I could not be happier with Sean! He made friends with my dogs so easily! My dogs are supper special and are part of my family. I would totally recommend Sean to everyone!! He really puts my mind at ease when I have to be away from them for several hours! Thank you

Our usual pet sitter had an emergency so we needed someone last minute for a very long watch (12 hours). We chose Sean and are so happy that we did. He is a thoughtful, kind and gentle young man. Our lab mix warmed to him immediately. He sent pictures throughout the day and texted us to see if it was normal that she didn’t eat all of her food (it is). I felt he was really paying attention to her. She played well with his adorable, playful puppy. At the end of the visit, Sean gave us a printed schedule of all they had done together with times and results. She came home tired and happy. So very pleased with Sean and our first Rover.com experience.

Information Sean D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know the temperament of your dog (friendly, skittish, destructive, etc..) With having a dog of my own and understanding how he likes to play with other dogs I need to make sure it will be a proper fit.

A typical day

A typical day starts around 6 A.M. in my house with breakfast and short walk. Once that is done I get ready for the day and plan out what is going on. I like to take my dog to dog parks, blue marsh, swimming (weather permitted.) If I can't get to a park, regardless of the weather I fit in 3 walks around 1 mile each.
