My family got our first dog within a month of me being born, a black lab named Shea. She was the sweetest, most loving companion a young boy could've asked for, and I think it was in no small part because of her that I've spent my life surrounded by animals. I got my own dog when I was 17 years old, a Siberian Husky who I named Apollo. I raised & trained him myself, and he became the best running & hiking partner I've ever had. When I moved to Florida, I made the incredibly difficult decision to leave him in the care of my parents, knowing if it were up to him, he wouldn't trade the wooded mountains of Vermont for the cities of south Florida. I now live with my cats Lucky and Kel’Thuzad, and my dog Lúthien. I began working with dogs professionally while I was in high school, walking and house sitting for neighbors, family friends, and relatives, until I moved to Florida and began working at a boarding facility. Inspired by two of my former colleagues from that job, I began studying canine behavior & psychology independently through extensive reading, while also working with animals full time. I am very experienced working with puppies, and elderly & disabled animals, and have no problem administering medication, or fulfilling any other special needs your pet may have! I am available full-time, looking for both infrequent one-off, and long-term set schedule clients. I am very responsive and easy to contact at all hours of the day, whether I am out or at home. I live in Victoria Park (Fort Lauderdale), a ten minute walk from both the dog-friendly Holiday Park, and Fort Lauderdale Beach. The neighborhood I live in is quiet, safe, and very pedestrian friendly. Great for leisurely walks, or if your furry friend requires more stimulation, a brisk run. Having raised a husky, and run cross country half my life I've yet to meet a dog I can't keep up with. I live by myself, but I have many relatives in the area (two who live right next door to me in the same apartment complex), and all dog owners as well. My husky Apollo lives in Vermont, but my staffordshire Lúthien, as well as all my regulars are always thrilled to have more playmates, so please reach out!
