I am the proud dog-dad to an adorable Shih-tzu, Mufasa, and life-long pet owner. Having grown up with Airedale terriers, boxers, and mixed breeds, I'm used to having a house full of dogs. I am currently a PhD student at CUNY Graduate Center studying music composition and a teacher at the College of Staten Island. This allows me to work from home in Brooklyn at least two or three days a week, where I love to take care of doggos while writing music and reading. I love all dogs, but my apartment is small, so breeds that are small-to-medium in size will likely be the best fit. Your pup will have a calming vacation when staying with me and Mufasa, the most relaxed Shih-tzu on the planet! We take potty breaks as needed (usually every 4-6 hours) and we like to break things up with longer walks, exploring the lovely (and very pet-friendly!) Boerum Hill neighborhood. Back home, there are lots of toys for playtime and plenty of comfy nap spots, including our couch (but not our bed). Your dog will be treated like part of the family, and you'll receive photos of your vacationing pet throughout the day. I am also available to come to your dog while you're away for a walk and check-in during the day, giving your pup the exercise and playtime that they deserve! Additionally, my dog has allergies that we treat with oral medication, so I'm comfortable administering any medicine your dog might need. Mufasa's allergies make us especially diligent in keeping people-food (and most dog food/treats, too!) away from dogs in our house, so send some of your pup's favorite treats along with them so I can reward them for being the best!
