Scott seems like a nice enough guy, but I would not hire him again through Rover. A few days into our trip, we got a text from the neighbor saying our dog had been locked outside in the backyard for at least 6-7 hours and barking the entire time. This was confirmed by Scott. He said he was worried she’d need to go to the bathroom while he was out for an extended time. It was fine for him to be gone that amount of time, but we never discussed leaving her outside. She was also apparently left outside without water. Communication with Scott was not what I’d expect from someone who is taking care of my dog. During the episode when our neighbors were freaking out I called Scott several times and left messages. He never returned my calls only responding via text assuring us he would be at our house “soon” but in fact didn’t show up for another three hours. By that point it was after dark and raining. In the end, our neighbors found a spare key and let her in. Scott never acknowledged that happened. We also gave him explicit instructions on how to put her medication in her bowl with her food, pick up poop in the backyard, leave our bedroom door closed when leaving, etc. None of these instructions were followed.

Scott is great with my two dogs while I was out of town for a week. He is reliable and communicative and was able to handle anything that came up. I couldn't have asked for a better person to watch Boss and Buck. They love him!
