Let's run and sniff!
Pet care experience
Your pup's safety and comfort are my top concerns, and of course lots of fun! I've worked with dogs of all sizes, ages, social skills and energy levels. I've used all kinds of harnesses/collars. We scoop the poop, and we build a rapport so that your dog is excited to see me the next time. Every dog has an individual personality that I want to learn and adapt to. For many dogs a new person in his/her life is an important relationship that should start out right - with treats and a proper greeting. My experience is based entirely on positive based reward training: treats, fun and strong leadership, while recognizing a dog's strengths and fears to guide them along a great walk or trip to the park. My skills are best exemplified in my own pup, Hazel, a high-energy, friendly, well-behaved German Shepherd, skilled in slow sniffing walks around town, wilderness trail off-leash backpacking trips, or just hanging out at the dog park saying hello to all the people and dogs she meets. I'm available afternoons and early evenings. Treats included! (Barring any allergies/restrictions, of course).

Information Scott E. would like to know about your pet
Level of socialability and known fears are important to me. I don't want to expose your pup to anything that might be scary, be it big dogs, suspicious objects or loud noises - safety and fun are top priorities. Does your dog know basic commands (sit, stay, come when called)? Do he/she have separation anxiety? Does your pup have any special dietary, medical or social needs? I prefer that dogs are up-to-date on vaccines and use a flea & tick control medicine spring to fall, but I'm flexible depending on the activity and the age of the dog (puppies need those vaccines to play with big dogs!)
A typical day
Trips around the block, forays to the park to fetch a ball or frisbee, swimming at the beach or just following that nose wherever it goes. If and when your dog and I build a strong rapport, off-leash adventures to safe places might be just the thing. I have a first aid kit for dogs and know just what to do in the event of an emergency.
