Pet care experience
Raised by cats
I've been around pets - cats, dogs, and turtles - since I was little. In order, major events surrounding pets I have experienced are: When I was twelve a feral cat colony started in my parents backyard. I would assist with feeding and got close with a few of those cats. The number of cats grew, and I assisted my parents in taking the cat colony to a trap-neuter-release event. I helped keep track of, feed, and keep comfortable 56 cats during the process of getting them to the TNR center. Inside the house we had a family of cats as well, including a cat I had grown up with since I was one. For the last four years, I would house sit for my family every time they went on vacation. For the last two years specifically that became every other weekend. I have adapted to complicated meal routines and needs of various cats. I have seen territorial frustrations, moody cats, pets with special health needs. None of them have scared me off! I also have experience in administering medicine through food and syringe feeding and topical ointment. As well, I have experience with taking care of pet turtles.

Safety, trust & environment
With every pet I meet, even when checking in on my own, I gauge their comfort and trust with me in the moment. If they don't feel comfortable with me being close, I am happy to hang out at a distance so they see I am not a threat. I take pet comfort and health very seriously and will check in if anything seems off.

Eddy was very calm when I returned tonight. She was very happy having a "friend" come and visit her! Great job... she's very picky with people and you won her over!
Mr. Mud was very happy with the attention Sami gave him when she came to visit him. The cat boxes were clean and he had been fed/watered as expected. I will be working with Sami again!
Sami has grown up taking care of all the pets and fur friends (into the hundreds) on our property. Since the time that she was 4, she has fed, groomed, medicated, nurtured, and most of all...loved...our dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, racoons, skunks, possums, squirrels, and lizards. She always adhered to the schedules that needed to be maintained for their feedings and meds, and she approached each creature with an empathetic heart. They all have loved her and the attention she showered them with.

Schedule
I'm currently focusing on grad school and I work remotely, so my schedule is very open to allow me to check in on your pets!
