Pet care experience

Hi there! Huge lover of all animals having grown up with them my entire life! In total I’ve had 5 dogs and 1 cat, recently 2 rats as my personal pets. I currently do not have pets so if you need sitting at my house and would like a more private experience for your baby, I can do that! I also love wild animals and have rescued and handled small birds, turtles, rabbits, and opossums. I’m comfortable caring for baby animals, odd animals, and special needs animals (my miniature schnauzer lived to be 16 and he was disabled for about 4 years, i.e. diapers, carrying around the house, bathed daily, etc.). Also have experience with anxious/prey animals (rats). Love the outdoors and walks/hikes! I am a very active and healthy person, I do not smoke or drink. I own a car and am happy to pick up pets at an additional small fee.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s enrichment and safety is number one and I take it very seriously! I live in a house on the second floor with a private entrance. There is a downstairs unit that is currently vacant. I live alone in a 2 bedroom space that has hardwood floors with many rugs. We have a large yard that is not fenced, so leashing will be a must on potty breaks and walks. However, I do have a large patio that is railed for sun bathing! I am located in the heritage hill area and know of many fun parks and hiking spots. I do not have personal pets and babies are welcome on furniture. I like to send updates and photos (if you approve of that) to make you feel as comfortable as possible with my or their stay.

Information Savannah J. would like to know about your pet

A breakdown of their personality and basic needs is number one. I’d additionally ask what their routine is like with you and what you would expect their schedule with me to look like. I.e., food requirements, how often they like to be played with and let out, do you want them to receive interactions form strangers on a walk (people and dogs) or to keep interactions minimal. Do they have any aggressive behavior, ways they don’t like to be touched? How do they like to be touched and played with? Etc.

A typical day

Walks are a must as I love the outdoors and being active! I live in the heritage hill area (east town) so I live in a very pet friendly and walkable area if you like you’re comfortable with those types of interactions. I know of a few quiet and large parks for doggos (a few favorites are Crahen Valley, Provin trails, etc.). I like to keep them stimulated and never alone, whether we are throwing the ball around, practicing some tricks (I’ve trained all of my dogs and taken agility classes) or cuddling together while I work or watch a movie.

I work from home full time as an artist and business owner. Occasionally I work for my mom at her store about once a week. Some of my work can also travel with me if it’s during the work week or we can chat about bringing your baby here as well! They will receive all of the love since my job allows for complete flexibility (I’m the boss).
