Pet care experience
I grew up on my grandmothers rescue farm where I cared for many animals and had 3 dogs from small to large breed. We also had 3 cats and a family of barn cats we kept well cared for. I had 5 dogs and 4 cats during my childhood/teens and got my dog Sitka when I was 22. After high school I took a vet tech course and carried on to work at a boarding kennel when I first moved to Kelowna, 15 years ago. I also fostered and volunteered for a few of our local dog rescues over the years which I absolutely adored the dogs and opportunities. I have my 13yo border collie Sitka who's been with me since he was a puppy and recently brought a hedgehog into our family. I have always loved being in the company of animals and getting out on adventures with dogs!

Our pup Mya is a rescue and becomes very anxious when we are not home. Savanna does check ins and Mya loves her visits and occasional walks. Highly recommend Savanna as she is very patient and caring.

I am confident with animals, their care and handling. I love to get out on hikes and walking trails whenever possible! I am able to help with basic medications if necessary (possibly others but that would need to be discussed). I am happy to play outside with your dog, love them up and make sure your dog/cat is fed and happy. I have my own vehicle as well so can transport dogs (size may be a factor lol) and cats if necessary.

Please let me know if your dog has any health concerns, any physical disabilities or injuries that I need to be mindful of. Also anything behavioral especially how they socialize with other dogs and people.
A typical day
My family is active and adventurous, whether with my kids or without. Hiking is one of our favourite activities or just having fun and playing. I love to play with toys/fetch with dogs, go swimming or find a hike to explore and stimulate all the pups senses. We keep to spots in Westbank mostly but will sometimes venture to Peachland and love to walk along Mission Creek in the Fall!

Availability
I work part time so have a fairly open and flexible schedule. I can take your pup/s for a walk in your neighborhood or I can take them for a fun hike!
