Dog and cat friendly sitter!
Pet care experience
I have 8 years of veterinary experience pet-sitting experience. I was a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice in North Carolina (where I'm from) for almost 7 years before moving to Lubbock to begin a PhD program. I've now been here for 2 years and have been building my reputation as a pet sitter, especially for cats, in Lubbock. As an assistant, my biggest passion was client education. I also had several pet-sitting clients from working at the animal hospital. Furthermore, I grew up on a meat goat farm, but we also had horses, guineas, rabbits, chickens, and beef cattle (and even a donkey and an eel at one point!). I do have 2 cats of my own, and our feline friends hold a special place in my heart. I've watched dogs, cats, chinchillas, rabbits, birds, horses, goats, cattle, chickens, so if you have other pets, I am happy to watch them as well. In the veterinary world, I've had experience working with just about every dog and cat breed around, including a variety of ages, medications, and special needs. I also have experience administering subcutaneous fluids and injections and medication administration for dogs and cats in both pill, liquid, inhaler, and transdermal forms. I require a meet and greet prior to doing any visit for new clients and/or pets. This allows me to meet you and your pet(s) together so you can show me around. One meet and greet is free, but any additional meetings will require my normal drop-in rates. Key drop offs/pickups may require an additional fee.
Reviews
I can’t say enough great things about Savana! My Mini Aussie will definitely miss her willingness to play endless rounds of fetch, administer meds, and take care of him when he’s sick. I love that I can always count on her to be timely, professional, and attentive. Lubbock (and Cash) will miss you!
Savana was great with girls! Even Gracie warmed up to her in a hurry! I would recommend her for sure!
Savana is awesome! Great communications and very reliable. Our pets loved her and I felt so comfortable knowing she was taking good care of them.
Savana was so helpful during our Thanksgiving vacation by checking on my son’s kitten while we were gone! She had great follow up and appreciated the photos!

I try to follow whatever the owner asks when I am watching pets in a client's home. I then take leads from the pet as to what they want to do (i.e., If they bring me a toy, we will play. If they want to just snuggle, we will just snuggle.). I have a fully fenced-in back yard. Only cat savvy dogs are allowed in my home, as I have 2 cats and want them to be comfortable in their own home. I don't accept cats in my home.
Information Savana E. would like to know about your pet
- Does your dog/cat need any medications? - How long can your pet be left alone? - Does your dog/cat like other animals (i.e., should I be wary if walking your dog and another dog approaches)? - Does your dog have any storm or separation anxiety? - What are your house rules for your pet? Is he/she allowed on the couch/bed/etc.? - Is there anything in your pet's medical history I should be aware of?
A typical day
Your dog can enjoy a variety of activities. If you have an active dog, I am more than happy to take your pet on walks around your neighborhood. If your neighborhood doesn't have walking space, I can bring them to my neighborhood. I also love playing with toys in your yard. If your dog prefers a quieter lifestyle, I am happy to provide them lots of pets and cuddles instead. For your cats, I will enjoy playing with wand toys, but also am happy to love on your cat if he/she is comfortable with that.
