I live on a centrally located (8 mins from the airport) sustainable urban farm with a large backyard. My retired parents live with me and we all care for the dogs so they are never alone. I have been watching dogs on Rover, for a few years now, it is my favorite side hustle because dogs and animals are a deep passion of mine. I specialize in long term stays and repeat visits because we really try to be a second home for dogs, we also provide discounts for these types of stays. I also try to keep the vibe of a dog park, with all the dogs playing together in the backyard, so I generally only try to book dogs who can hang out with other dogs. I work to develop a relationship with the dogs who stay with us and go to great lengths to make them feel at home, whether that is buying wet food & treats to put on top so that they eat their food or letting them stay in my office & bedroom with me because they are nervous. I understand dogs are people's children and I treat them as such. I have experience taking care of dogs with trauma and separation anxiety, I understand the difficulties of having a dog who is scared to be alone. I miss having a dog at home now and would be honored to be able to love and take care of your dog. A lil bit about me, I have a PhD in Sustainability, I am working to make my house completely sustainable and closed loop, I do environmental consulting & nonprofit work. I love animals and plants, I have 2 axolotls, a chuckwalla lizard, chickens and 3 fish tanks and my house is a jungle.
