Paw-some pup care
Pet care experience
Dogs have been a huge part of my life, growing up with a mom as a dog trainer I worked as an assistant for AKC Dog Training for 5 years where I helped clean-up after dogs and worked with pooches of all sizes, breeds, and levels of training. I've had several dogs; I currently have two sweet labs, Kodi and Zadie. Dog sitter for several years for neighbors, people met during training, or family friends. Have also dog sat for dogs of all sizes and ages. I always pick up after the dogs I'm sitting whether on walks or at home. Able to walk long distances for bigger dogs with more energy, and even willing to go on runs with them if needed. Willing to adapt to whatever needs your dog may have, I am very flexible and will do my absolute best to keep your dog happy and healthy.
Reviews
Sarah is an amazing and responsible person who adores animals. Having lived with dogs all her life, she is very comfortable taking care of them. She’s also had numerous pet sitting jobs involving multiple dogs at a time.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pets come first, and every environment is different. Generally, making sure my pets have ample opportunity to get outside as needed is a must. Monitoring noise is important for happy neighbors, as some dogs are much more chatty than others. Some older dogs have extra needs, my previous Rottweiler Casey wore diapers for the last year of her life. Hiding a pill in peanut butter or food, or giving a dog an insulin shot is nothing new for me and something I’m happy to do while you’re away. My dogs are accustomed to a 3-mile walk a day so I’m familiar with the activity needs of energetic dogs. As I train for my second marathon, my mileage reaches 10+ miles so distance is no stranger to me! My dogs are also very punctual at dinner time, by 7 pm they are in their crate ready for dinner. I know how important meals are and making sure they are fed on time is a must.
Information Sarah W. would like to know about your pet
Let me know how well trained your dogs are. I completely understand if they are more destructive when you’re away, our yellow lab Zadie only rips apart pillows if we leave for a day or more; it happens! But I need to know how to prepare and what to expect from your furry loved ones. I have no problem going the extra mile for pets with extra needs, an extra walk or more time spent with them is not an issue if they are lonely or especially energetic. I also understand some dogs are not friendly in all environments; some dogs don’t do well with men, big dogs, loud noises, etc. Please let me know these things ahead of time so I can best prepare when walking or caring for them.
A typical day
It depends on the dog and their energy level. If they are laid back and not in much need of play I will hang around and offer lots of pets so they aren’t alone. High energy dogs I love most because I love playing with dogs, often times will play using a toy they bring over or will give them space to run around in the yard under supervision. I will also provide walks as temperature permits (if it will be a hot day walks will be in the morning or late afternoon to prevent burn paws and/or heat exhaustion) If a neighborhood park is nearby I enjoy taking dogs I sit over. They seem to love to sniff around and I keep them on leash at all times. I tend to avoid off-leash dog parks unless the owner specifically requests I take them there to avoid potential risks other dogs may pose.

I will be attending UCSD in September for graduate school, and until then am picking up extra jobs to save up money. I work afternoons as a math tutor and some occasional full days as a per diem pharmacy technician in Sparks, NV. I am very flexible and will work with your pets needs to ensure the best care while you’re away! I am also very active and can walk, run, or play with your pets as needed.
