from poodles to pitbulls, I care!

Pet care experience

Hi my name is Sarah and I used to be the lovely owner of a Red Nose Pitbull named Mika for over 8 years. I currently don't have any pets, because I loved her so much and don't feel ready to have a new furry friend. However, I would love to still spend time with yours! All my life, animals have been around me from cats, birds, dogs, and little critters. Animals are such beautiful creatures who have the kindest of hearts and souls. For almost all of high school, I prided that I was a vegetarian and animal advocate. I still advocate for animals any chance I get! I always encourage people to take good care of their pups well being and I always encourage people to adopt! Animals need our help and little do we know we need theirs too! My love of dogs came full circle came during high school. I would go to the shelter to look at all the animals since it was right down the street. I encouraged my neighbor to adopt a lovely Cocker Spaniel named Lady and I begged my grandma to get our Dorgi Rockcee. This is where my love for dogs expanded. People who take in dogs are wonderful people and they deserve to know that not only their dog but their family member and friend is well taken care of. I'm always available for questions and concerns from an owner who has given my the wonderful opportunity to take care of their pup. I always like to give updates and communicate with the owner so they know how the experience is going and be able to provide feedback to make Fido's life better! I love taking pictures of my own dogs and I know it's a wonderful treasure to have for owners who might miss or want to check up on their pup. I'm a big advocate for doggie etiquette, so rest assured that I will make sure your pup is safe and secure away from dogs who might be a little on the fence. Also, I will make sure that your pup behaves the way you want him/her too! As a Pitbull owner, I know the stigmas that these types of breeds get. If you have a Pitbull, German Shepard, Doberman, Rottweiler. I am not afraid. I will do my best to make sure that people feel comfortable around your dog but also make sure your pup is comfortable as well. If you have an aggressive animal, I will do my best to work on the aggression during their time with me. I know it can be a scary and hurtful issue. I've been there myself. Whether big or small, I will make sure your dog is safe and other dogs around them are as well! I usually will take dogs for a morning walk before breakfast because it usually stimulates their appetite. Also, it's a great way to train since they are ready for food and treats will be more exciting. After a long walk, I like to give the pups a meal. Usually, after they eat I give time for their tummies to digest by passing the time with cuddles and eventually play time with toys. Then I usually like to find a scenic area for the next walk. Then usually dinner time happens after a few hours and then they get their last walk. I do my best to get dogs out of the house since their natural environment is outside. I usually like to have dogs go out 2-3 times a day so that they are able to get a good nights rest and have low-stress levels by exercising them. Whatever way you want your dog taken care of I will oblige! Lastly, I'm typically free in the afternoons and evenings but I can do my best to work our morning schedules for weekends. Meaning you get to sleep in or relax in bed while your pup is getting walked! I'm a full-time student, but I always make sure my schedules can work to accommodate your needs! Animals deserve the best care we can give them. I always endevour to make a n animals life filled with love and happiness!

Sarah is absolutely wonderful! Our dogs loved staying with her! She kept us updated on how the dogs were doing. Further, she sent us plenty of pictures while we were away. She went above and beyond, including cleaning the dog bowls before we picked up our dogs. You can tell she has a place in her heart for animals! We will definitely be going back to Sarah if we ever need someone to look after our dogs for a short period of time!

5 Stars!! Sarah was attentive, always providing regular updates, taking our dog out for regular walks and to the dog park. I cannot recommend Sarah as a sitter enough!

First time using Rover, was very happy. Reluctant to leave my dog Charlie at a big boarding center, I tried Rover and was completely satisfied. Sarah did a great job and sent pictures and updates. We’ll done!

Information Sarah W. would like to know about your pet

Daily feeding & habits: Let me know if your pup is a picky eater or a gobbler! I like to monitor their habits to make sure I keep them at their healthy weight or find ways to help you bring up the weight or down. My own dog was a very picky eater, so I have experience with different types of food training and meals that could accommodate your furry friend. Also, I would like to know how much you feed them, how you feed them, and what type of diet whether it is grain free, holistic, raw, etc. I want to know what I can or cannot give them for treats and toys. Training: Is your pup trained, in the process, or not trained at all. This will give me information on how to help keep up or create a training regimen that fits you and your doggies needs. Behavior: I want to know the personality of your dog in-house and out of the house. Safety is a big priority for me. I've dealt with majorly aggressive furry friends to the most timid of pups. I want to know if the behavior is opposite from being inside or out and how you usually like situations controlled. Walks: How many walks do they get daily and what type of structure do they enjoy. More dogs to say hello to or secluded areas that avoid many dogs.

A typical day

I love going on nature walks with any furry friend. I think a climate with fresh air and a nice view not only makes you calm but your furry friend too. Animals feel what you feel and if you provide an area of serenity and calmness then they will feel the results. Anywhere from the beach to a hiking trail, I find that the pups not only get the exercise they need but they get it in a more natural environment. Playing fetch or with toys is a really engaging activity. It stimulates the pups mind and soul. Not only are they getting a workout, they are getting the mental stimulation that makes them happy! I like taking dogs to the park and run around with them. I usually try to find the most mentally stimulating toys that we can both engage with! Training is always an important activity. Whether it is a refresher on what an owner has taught their fur baby or if the owner wants him/her to practice a new trick. I'm more than willing to accommodate. Training is a very important factor in doggie etiquette and prevents any mishaps from occurring. Also, dogs love to please their owners and training provides that mental stimulation and brings on happiness as well.
