Pet care experience
I guess I was ten years old, when my aunt Diane opened the family kennel business Clark Hill Kennels in Austin Quebec Canada. She put me to work from cleaning runs, to prepping the dogs for dog shows and everything in between. Show dogs always seems to require extra care. I spent about 4 years being her apprentice . I was born into a loving pet family and as a child we had many dogs and many dogs at the same time. Mostly big breeds and mutts of course. We had a pure Shepard and Mastiff. Training the dogs for house behavior was always important. And is in my house now. The pets indeed are part of the family, but they all have their place(their own dog beds) and its not on my furniture or my beds and I try yo keep them out of the kitchen of course. As an adult I've had a terrier for 15 years this Feb 2020. Juanita was adopted in HI when we lived for a year. She has been the child we never had and has always traveled everywhere we can take her and has never spent the night in a kennel; cos we just don't believe in that option. So as Nita's years are coming to a close I figured it is time to pay it forward again, and open my heart my hearth, and my home to some new hairy friends, who have parents who are as sensitive to their pets' needs as Ive been to Nita.
Reviews
Sarah is wonderful!
Sara has taken care of my birds (and previously my children) for several years. It's hard to find someone that is comfortable with exotic pets - comfortable enough to let them have time out of their cages and interact with them. All you exotic owners know what I'm talking about! She's flexible, responsible, and my birds love her.

We live in the country side in linden. We do not have a fenced perimeter on the 10 acre farm but we have dog runs in the trees, we have a1/2 mi hay filled we walk year round depending on how deep the snow gets out there. If your dog can not be trusted loose then a leash walk is no problem for the daily walks. In the warm months we have a penned area for free running. The house is at least 2000 Sqr feet so plenty of room for a crate too in necessary. As I previously mentioned we are pretty flexible and willing to think outside the box to accommodate. Needless to say rules and respect are enforced in our house. Though we run a tight ship at the Van Pelt farm ,everyone gets spoilt to some degree unless they come w strict rules that need to be enforced.

IS the dog house trained? How friendly is the dog? Does the dog have a special diet? does the dog chew itself or things others then toys ? Does the dog listen on command? Is the dog's vaccinations up to date? does the dg have a history of aggression? Has the dog bitten anyone?
A typical day
As was mentioned in the profile notes, we live on 10 acres about 1/2 mi each leg. So of course I will walk the dog in the safety of the field , but we do live on a dirt road and if a longer walk is required we can walk the road. if your dog likes to play fetch we can do that or tug of war, maybe a car ride; if your dog is like mine she loves to ride.

Availability
I am homemaker "married living single" as my husband "migratory pilot "currently residing in OR. SO needless to say I have plenty of time and I am home most of the day all week. I have a four year old grandson who I babysit from time to time, but that doesn't interfere w my schedule for dog sitting. All and all I am pretty flexible; with enough notice pretty much anything can be executed.
