Stay At Home Dog-Mom With a Flexible Schedule

Pet care experience

While I am a first-time dog mom to my whippet boy Tiber, I have been a lover of animals my entire life. I spent most of my childhood begging my parents for a pet to no avail, so I filled in by playing and helping out with pets of family friends and neighbors whenever I could. As an adult, I have had a year of pet-sitting experience with a few repeat clients on Rover when I lived in the States (I am originally from Florida, but my husband and I moved to Cambridge this past year), and have now had this past year learning about all the joys of puppy-raising. I have cared for dogs both old and young, and am happy to handle any special needs or training to the best of my ability, and follow any instructions or routines you and your pup might prefer. I am currently stay-at-home due to some ongoing health concerns, so I have a fully free and flexible schedule and can take dogs at fairly short notice. However, said health concerns mean that highly energetic dogs who need long or vigorous walks may not be a good fit. I still stay active though, and can do frequent short or moderate walks, or energetic at-home play time! I also like to do mental enrichment activities, and can prep food puzzles, do training games, and play lots and lots! While I am not a professional by any means, I have been working on my puppy training skills with Tiber, and we do force-free positive reinforcement training with him, so I am happy to do casual sessions for fun and enrichment. I am equally happy to cuddle and be couch potatoes with the dogs though if they're the more relaxed type. In general, I am extremely flexible both in schedule and in dog care, and can easily adjust to whatever instructions you provide. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, and hope you have a wonderful day!

Sarah was our very first paid dog sitter and we couldn’t have been happier. She kept us up to date on what our Toby was doing and even rescued a stray neighborhood kitten. I would have her again in a minute.

We love Sarah! She was great with our dog Max and followed instructions perfectly. She even communicated several times during her housesitting and assured us that all was going well and our boy was happy and on schedule with his normal routine. We've already booked her for our upcoming vacations.

Sarah was a huge help when she recently came to my home to help me with my pets. I own 2 young, rambunctious cats, an elderly dog, a middle aged dog with anxiety, and I have quite the aquatics set up. After my recent health episode, I needed a hand with them- and Sarah was fantastic with all of them. She was a great help with my aquatics (fish, snails, and a juvenile turtle), and was able to handle my dogs for me when I wasn't able to do it myself. She was very patient and caring with all of my pets. I am very grateful for the assistance, and would hire her again.

Sarah loves animals and really cares about their physical and emotional wellbeing. When she looked after my cat, Jet, she made sure she was both well-nourished and received plenty of enrichment. 10/10 would hire

I'm happy to follow whatever instructions and care requirements necessary. In general I'm very flexible and will work to do whatever you and your pet needs, as long as I'm able! While we do not have a yard or garden, we do live right down the street from a large green park, and a block or from some small, quieter ones. (Let me know if you have a preference for on or off lead, or on a long-line at public parks! I will default to on-lead if not told otherwise.) I typically take the dogs out for short walks 4–6 times a day. If you're comfortable with me driving your dog, we also have the secure dog park about a 10 minute's drive away. The dogs can be with me at all times during the day; so I am more than happy to work with separation anxiety dogs and can ensure that they won't be left on their own. Tiber has SA also, and we've suspended all departures with him, so I understand how important it is! (And if your dog doesn't have separation anxiety, they'll still get that all-day attention, play, and cuddling!)

Information Sarah T. would like to know about your pet

Please note that your dog will need to be comfortable taking walks with another dog, as my own pup will be coming along on any outings. I generally will have the dogs with me at all times, however if your pet prefers fewer walks/less activity and will be comfortable being left on their own for short periods while I walk Tiber (half an hour or less), that can be accommodated. Please let me know if there's a routine you like to keep for your pet or if you have any preferences for feeding times, walks, daily play, etc. Dogs can be fed in separate areas if you'd like. Overnight, we're happy to let your pup sleep in our bed with us, on the couch or guest bed by themselves, or you can provide a bed or crate for them. I'm happy to accommodate any other special needs or preferences to the best of my ability. Just let me know what!

A typical day

I'll play whatever games or with whatever toys your pet loves! You're welcome to provide their own, or have your pup share with Tiber. I'm happy to lavish lots of fuss and belly rubs, supervise or join in on play, and anything else! If your pet is more chill, I'm equally content to hang out on the couch with give them some low-key company (and Tiber is pretty good about matching energy levels too). I can prep interactive food puzzles and toys for your pup, or do some casual training sessions. Let me know what enrichment you and your pet likes best.

I'm currently stay-at-home, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to play with and care for your animals. They'll be staying with me and my own dog, Tiber—a young male whippet who loves other dogs and is fantastic with them. He's eager to have friends, but is also very respectful when other dogs need space. I will book only one client at a time and typically one dog maximum for overnight stays to ensure that I'm able to give both your pets and mine the attention they need, but am always willing to discuss other situations! Please do get in touch if you have any other questions. :)
