Work-life-pet balance assistant

Pet care experience

I’m Sarah, east coast-born & raised, a recent Morongo Basin transplant employed remotely in the music industry. I enjoy a flexible schedule, live music, iced tea, photography, & good company (especially four-legged!) I've always loved all types of animals. Growing up, I had fish, birds, guinea pigs, & pet-sat for neighborhood cats & dogs every opportunity I could get. This helped to earn me my first dog that I've now had for 16 years, a Westie named Scooter. He lives with my mom out of state full-time now (since he much prefers a fenced in grassy yard over desert life), but I miss him dearly. I have a cat of my own now, a Siamese mix named Mimi, & welcome any opportunity I get to interact with other animals. I started doing pet & house sitting professionally about a decade ago, & have done so all over the country as I've moved around quite a bit in that time. I'll happily hang with your creature(s) to fulfill both our attention meters. I befriend animals with ease & enjoy their company as much as they enjoy mine. I am a very respectful & responsible house guest, & will often go above & beyond my duties to ensure everything is to your liking during your absence & upon your return. I know it can be difficult to manage the work-life-pet balance, & I like to be a help to both people & their pets in any way I can. From potty/feeding breaks to long strolls to overnight house- & pet-sitting stays, I'll happily give your furry friend (or those of the green thumb kind!) the love and care they crave and deserve in your absence. *COVID-19 UPDATE: I will follow any COVID protocols you wish. My general rule of thumb is to play it safe; I always wear a mask inside my clients' houses for drop in visits & wash/sanitize my hands frequently. I keep my exposure risk to a minimum & test regularly for peace of mind. I will also be fully vaccinated as of April 1. Stay healthy & safe out there!* **PLEASE NOTE: If the quote provided by Rover for your situation seems unfair, please message me & I am happy to review & potentially adjust**

Sarah took great care of my senior cat while I was away for the weekend. She was responsive, flexible, and provided detailed updates. At our meet-and-greet, both my cat and dog were quickly at ease with her. We will definitely book her again!

Sarah took excellent care of my Labrador Retriever! She gave her the exersize she needs, playing fetch, and kept her safe during the visits. She is very professional and took photos to document each visit. Thank you!

Sarah was an absolutely fantastic sitter for our two cats! She’s responsive, flexible and clearly has the animal’s best interests in mind. She provided a comprehensive overview of the visit, as well as some great photos. Absolutely will book again!

Information Sarah S. would like to know about your pet

**Written or typed complete instructions are preferred. Below are some examples of what to include** - What to expect upon arrival to your home (dog in crate, loose in house, places your cat likes to hide?) - Triggers (other dogs, squirrels, cars, etc) - Commands that I should know or your pup needs some work on - Walking preferences (ex: left- or right-hand side) - Typical places where your dog might have had an accident in the house - Feeding routine - Snacks/treats allowed - Any medication administration must be demonstrated at the meet & greet

A typical day

For cats: I will try to engage them with play time & pets, or just provide a warm lap for them to sit on. For dogs: I'm very active and would love to take your pup for a walk. PLEASE, no pullers. Happy to play inside or outside off leash in a secured fenced in area if available. I will make sure any creature has fresh water available & give lots of love. !! IMPORTANT !! I will help care for your pets, but I am NOT a pet trainer. I can establish dominance as necessary & am happy to reinforce training you’re working on for young dogs. Dogs who are prone to bark, bite, jump, pull on walks (if applicable), do not respond to commands, or do not get along with other humans outside of your presence will not be accepted. If you are unsure how your dog will behave without you around, please do not book me; unpredictability is dangerous.
