Pet care experience
Managing expectations aka Some very important information about me (before you read any further): 1) I have a full time day job. If your pups cannot be left alone for long stretches during the day (and you not within walking distance of Lone Mountain) I will not be a good fit. 2) I will require a meet and greet for all new clients no later than 5 days before you would like the visit to begin. This is to make sure it is a good match, and if it isn't- allows you lots of time to find another sitter who might be a better match. If you are still interested, please read on. Thanks for checking out my profile! I grew up with dogs. Many dogs, of different breeds. Most of the dogs my family had were mutts that we had inherited through one way or another. The only dogs my parents paid for were the two Dachshunds (Oscar and Charlie) and a Cocker Spaniel named Lucy. I never really considered myself a "dog person" until I met Disco. Disco is a Boston Terrier/Szhitzu mix that belongs to a former friend of mine. Disco was a phenomenal dog and his people (both very protective of Disco) trusted me to take Disco for walks when they were not able to walk him. When Disco's people took a six week trip to Europe one summer and rather than board him (which they didn't want to do) they had me watch Disco. I remained a dedicated dog walker and pet-sitter for Disco until two years ago. During the two years where my life has been without Disco I have become a dog-walker and pet sitter for a St. Bernard named Etta James, a dog-sitter for three Dachshunds named Tilly, Gretta and Simon and have a special relationship with a service dog named DeMilo (up until his person went on maternity leave I referred to DeMilo as my work boyfriend). I love animals and spend a lot of time learning about different kinds of dogs because I hope to one day have a dog of my own. Circumstances prohibits me from obtaining a dog of my own, I know that working with dogs as a pet-sitter and dog walker

Another great stay with Sarah!
Sarah is the best and I always feel better knowing our pets are in her care.
Sarah took excellent care of Maggie, our elderly dog, over a long weekend. She stayed in great contact and Maggie was relaxed and calm when we returned. I'm looking forward to having Sarah stay again in the future!
Sarah went above and beyond the call of duty during her first stay with my cattle dogs, Maggie and Charlie, who are very excitable and somewhat unpredictable. When I ran into car trouble on my way home, she even paid them a visit/fed them without charging me for this extra visit, despite the late hour and last minute notice. Thanks again Sarah!

Information Sarah S. would like to know about your pet
I don't have any breed preferences. I want to know what are the dog's favorite toys, if they have any mobility issues, poor vision, preferences with how they interact with small children and other dogs (big or small). I like to know what kinds of medication they might be taking, what are their favorite treats, do they get overly depressed or anxious when separated from their people? Are there particular places that the dogs like to go? Are there places their people want me to avoid (e.g. the beach)?
A typical day
The puppy will get lots of belly scratches and ear rubs. Lots of walks (I love walking), play time with their favorite toy(s) or playing catch, or even just snuggles to help reduce any anxiety or sadness they may be experiencing as a result of their person(s) not being home. I don't mind getting down on the ground and playing with a dog, or chase a dog in play.
