Pet care experience
I'm new to Rover but have been caring for animals all my life. I have three pets of my own, a chihuahua/pug named Bean and two cats named Fig & Bouillon. I have grown up around/taken care of all kinds of animals, including a period of time helping my parents foster dogs for our local shelter and regularly dogsitting for friends. This means I have spent time with dogs as small as chihuahuas and as large as St. Bernards. I am comfortable with all breeds and various behavioral issues. My own dog had terrible anxiety when he was first adopted, but with patience he has come out of his shell and learned to be comfortable in most settings. I absolutely adore all animals and take great pride in how well loved and happy my own fur-children are. I would treat your family members as if they were my own.

Perfect, arrived at the exact time she said she would, the dog seemed happy when we got home.
Sarah was excellent with my anxious adult pitbull. He has retained the progress we've made with training, in part because Sarah understands the body language and needs of an anxious dog. Highly recommend!

My pets seem to do best on a schedule so we keep meal times, potty breaks, and walks as consistent as possible. If caring for your animal, I understand the importance of maintaining your/their schedule to ensure your pet can be as comfortable as possible while you are away. With all animals, especially cats, I always let them set the boundaries of their comfort. A couple of my pets have/or currently struggle with anxiety so I am always observing body language and environment to allow them to feel comfortable or adapt as quickly or slowly as they need to a new person or a new environment.

I have no breed preferences. I want to know anything and everything about your dog. When/where they eat, walk, go to the bathroom, what situations they are not comfortable in, favorite toys or games, anything you feel is important for me to know.
A typical day
I am an avid runner and would be more than willing to take your dog with me. I am comfortable wherever your dog is comfortable for walks, parks, etc.

I have a car so I can get around the city quickly and I am currently a graduate student so my schedule is generally pretty flexible during the week and open on weekends.
